🏆 SUPER BOWL LVIII PREGAME THREAD - SF 49ERS vs KC CHIEFS 🏆

The team understands their mission, they've put in the time and the effort to get here. I would be shocked to find out they weren't taking the Chiefs seriously and partying vs prepping for the game.

You win this game...then you can party for months! That's the goal.

Also I read both teams are staying 17+ miles away from the strip.

Same. Going through our roster, there are quite a few with wives, girlfriends,(that's gotta help right?) and are vets like you said. I'd have a hard time seeing many of them jeopardizing this. Maybe just a few that could be iffy like our young corners and chase young.
Man fook the chiefs. This is our year. Brock is about to shock the world, baby! Everyone's all over the chiefs jockstrap. Our defense will get it together - it's going to be awesome.

Yeah, we have a lot of responsible and mature guys. At least it seems. So I'm hoping that has a lot to do with it. I think it helps having guys on the team that have lost it before.

Like I said, I'm hoping jed is gonna send bus loads of strippers to the chiefs hotel to party. Lol every night

Can't wait to see how the convos change anoit mahommes after we beat them. Right now it's all about him being the GOAT but then people will say "well he's 2-2 in the super bowl".

he's great but they need to chill on the goat talks. He needs at least 4 to pass montana and at least 5+ even get close to Brady convo.

Yeah, saw some Brady comps on a show I watched for 5 mins haha ..I was like nope. Dude got damn lucky we didn't face him last year cause we would have won. Basically, handed to him by a fake ass Eagles team lolol. Got lucky in 2020 too. He is talented but damn he escaped Brock, a stacked offense along with Demeco D last year and had a bum ankle. It was ours. Now he has nowhere to run, nowhere to hide . Wilks really needs to bring it though. He needs to bring it hard.

They are gunna be about business first, then pleasure. Always time to party and light up the strip after the game. They very much likely won't even be staying on the strip. Not worried. This was a concern on New Years too vs Raiders..not gunna be a thing.

They need to do something that isn't on film yet, or very little. Even the 5 man front.

i really liked how they disguised the zone coverage on fourth down with man, even with the pre snap motion. That fooled Goff. Obviously Mahommes is light years better than Goff but still a vet who's played a lot of ball.

it's kinda shocking how bad Goff is when he had to move off his spot. Lol

Goff is the poster child for pocket passers only lol. I feel like they ate up our zone coverage (especially when we wouldn't get legit pressure vs that elite OL).

it will be interesting to see what we can do vs Mahomes. His OL isn't close to the level of the lions. Those OTs aren't anything special. Being down their all-pro OG hurts.

I thought Lamar really choked away that W. He had massive running lanes and just didn't run. Late on reads (just flat out missing reads) and of course that D got away with some s**t as well. IMO there was a PI on that INT in the end zone. Also the fluky end zone fumble 🥴

I would like to see what Baltimore's D did vs KC? Coverages and whatnot.
The Niners probably aren't going to crack 30 pts. in this game based on the results of all of KC's games this year, regular season and playoffs. We will be one of, if not the best, offenses they have faced, but I expect our offense will yield between 20-28 points. Our defense is going to have to put up one of their best games with turnovers. This seems like it will be a lower scoring game than our previous playoff games against the Packers and Lions.
Probably a dumb question but do they tailgate at the superbowl? Vegas is just a few hrs away from where I live was thinking about going. I imagine they'll have superbowl partys but outside the stadium would be amazing

So this was our last matchup. We were able to move the ball pretty effectively with Jimmy and this was when CMC was still getting acquainted. We just had some classic Jimmy things happen like throwing a boneheaded INT in the Redzone and giving up a safety.

What is super concerning is that our D had absolutely no answers for Mahomes and their offense. And our defense was MUCH better last year than now. Demecos scheme was getting abused all day. I have my doubts that the wide 9 is capable of defending Reid's offense. If we are to win, expect it to be a shootout.

I hate to be negative but this matchup is one that I wasn't wanting in the SB, although I feared Baltimore more. I just don't know how the Niners get it done, but I'll keep the faith regardless.

I think alot of people are not remember than we had a lot of guys coming back from injury that game including Bosa, which didn't practice all week IIFC.

Looking at the film from that game shows our whole D was out of position every other play. I'm not well educated on the Xs and Os but that seems like a scheme issue. Like Reid really knew how to exploit the wide 9.

I feel like we will need to do something radically different on defense to win this game. Wilkes will need to have a Bellichickian performance.

It doesn't look like it, unfortunately, due to space, which is what I was guessing. I was hoping it would be allowed but when I thought about it..the space at Allegiant just wouldn't accommodate all of that.

From NFL.Com Q&A:

Is there Tailgating at Super Bowl LVIII?
Tailgating is not permitted at the Super Bowl for ticketholders or non-ticketholders.

There are loads of "tailgate parties" at casinos and such for a price of course. Some are pretty steep in price.

As the days go on, I do feel like the Niners are the flat out better team. The Chiefs could have easily lost the Bills game and Ravens game. They didn't so kudos to them. You could say we could have easily lost to the Packers and Lions. I feel like our wins and style of wins built major character whereas the Chiefs scraped by. I feel like that crappy version of the Chiefs may make a reappearance in the SB if our DLine finally gets it together.
In the Lions game, there were so many mistakes on the Lions part, plus a fluky bounce on the Aiyuk catch, that ended up getting us the win. Same was true with the Packer game, with their dropped picks.

Ugh. Not feeling good about this. My only hope is that the 49ers have snapped out of their funk. They have not looked sharp since that Ravens game.

Parking is rumored to be 300$ and the cheapest ticket is 8k from a video I saw on YouTube. I don't think that's the kinda people to have a good tailgate with their rivian and Tesla.

The Ravens running backs got 6 carries vs the Chiefs and Lamar had 8 some that weren't designed. They did not establish the run but Edward's and Lamar average over 6 yards per carry. This will not be the case for Kyle.

Better off spending that money to have a great meal Saturday night in Vegas and go some casino to watch the game. Probably have more liked minded fans to cheer with and get drunk with.
