In the Lions game, there were so many mistakes on the Lions part, plus a fluky bounce on the Aiyuk catch, that ended up getting us the win. Same was true with the Packer game, with their dropped picks.

Ugh. Not feeling good about this. My only hope is that the 49ers have snapped out of their funk. They have not looked sharp since that Ravens game.

That's too bad you feel that way. Have you ever tried maybe not solely focusing on the negatives? There's so f**king much to be juiced about yet here you are chicken little-ing the s**t out of everything. Enjoy the ride my dude.

Also, the Aiyuk play would have been a penalty and without the bump from the defender the pass was on target. Not sure why the media doesn't bring this up. They picked up the flag because Aiyuk caught the ball IMO.

EXACTLY! they all completely ignore the PI flag that flew across the screen, it would've been first and goal regardless of the catch.

broke that bunk ass curse too

After pausing to reflect...I feel pretty good about the 49ers in this Super Bowl.

  • The 49ers are on pace for a FULL game performance whereas the Chiefs are heading the opposite direction.
  • Chiefs will play without LG Joe Thuney and DE Charles Omenihu. The 49ers are missing Hufanga and Ferrell.
    • No injuries are good, but the 49ers have had more time to acclimatize to their injuries.
  • Mahomes with Kelce, Rice, and Pacheco is potent...BUT...Purdy to BA, DS, GK, and CM is lethal.
  • The Chiefs do not have Tyreek Hill, the speedster who wrecked havoc in their prior SB match-up.
  • The Chiefs do not have Charvarius Ward. The 49ers do.
  • Kyle almost beat Andy with Jimmy G. Do you really imagine he won't finish the job with Purdy?!
  • Teams have repeatedly run on the Chiefs...and the 49ers will most certainly do the same with the NFL rushing leader.
  • Nick Bosa and Co. have a chance at revenge.

You have a way toooo high opinion of Ward. He is good - not great. If he was still with the Chiefs, he would be the 3rd or 4th CB.

Probably a dumb question but do they tailgate at the superbowl? Vegas is just a few hrs away from where I live was thinking about going. I imagine they'll have superbowl partys but outside the stadium would be amazing

Parking is rumored to be 300$ and the cheapest ticket is 8k from a video I saw on YouTube. I don't think that's the kinda people to have a good tailgate with their rivian and Tesla.

If you are not a Superbowl ticket holder, you will not be allowed on the Allegiant campus on game day. One must find other viewing location, like a casino, "tailgate parties"/ viewing parties throughout town

Sometimes you get the breaks and sometimes you don't. Remember the Ravens game where Purdy had 2 balls intercepted after tipped balls. Those usually fall to the ground but they got picked off. Breaks are always part of the game. Tipped passes, dropped passes and penalties are part of the game. When teams get to this point breaks are often what determines which team wins.

Correct, That's how it is at every SB

Anyone go back to last year's matchup with the Chiefs? Very similar personnel and coaching staffs.

You can see how this could go to similar game plans this time around.

Notes:
CMC 1st game
SF up 10 quickly (drop in the RZ: could be 14)
Mahomes avoided the rush with a very quick TTT, roll outs, screens and back shoulder passes
Early INT by Gipson/Hufanga (2) to RZ INT for SF
KC heavy rush. All 5 TD's on the rush. They featured Pacheco, McKinnon and Hardman
We featured CMC & Kittle with screens and seams
Chris Jones a menace at DE and several batted passes again
KC's return game and coverage >>>>>> SF
Spags brought blitzes and they all worked
Kelce featured and Andy targeted the slow S's in Gipson/Hufanga & Ward on deep completions (killers)
I counted 8 drops (?) total (minus penalties)
CMC & Wilson were featured rushers and were terrific
Screens killed us (McKinnon 35 yards on 3rd and 20)
Penalties erased many big plays (lack of discipline)
1 score game until 10 minutes to go (theme here)
Lots of timely hits/pressures/sacks (safety)
