How do we fix this?

Did Moody miss the FG or was it blocked? How is that on Moody? Fumbles happen; CMC has been running many times and some very hard runs this season and I don't fault him for that one.
Now the muffed kickoff...yeah, bonehead play of the game. The KC coverage was already there, McCleod should have just pounced on the ball and covered it. Pick it up and run where? maybe 2-5 yards? That alone cost the game. ST has been less than consistent or good this year and needs new coaching, apparently.

We have pro-bowl RB/FB/TE two pro-bowl WRs and a very good 3rd, one of the best OT in NFL history, a good QB, but the rest of the OL gets shredded.

Free rushers are free rushers regardless of who's in there. They don't need elite pass rushers to get pressure. Same s**t that the Ravens do (and what Seattle will be doing now).

blitzing and how to play it is more on the QB then on anything else. That's how KC gets their pressure and has for years.

one thing that no one talks about is how SF is constantly losing good coaches. That s**t hurts on multiple levels. You know who doesn't lose coaches for some f**king reason? The chiefs.

Spags been rolling that defense out for years. He's finally got everyone on the same page and the personnel he wants. In order to blitz like that you need the coverage. You need everyone on the same page. You can add wrinkles to it because you have the confidence that the guys will be where they need to be because they've been running it forever….its no different then BB in NE.

We managed the same with Fangio, and our defenses got better schematically as the years went on.

It really sucks how the Chiefs have such great continuity at DC.

Really pisses me off too.
Please get rid of Moody
I'm not basing that we should Fire Wilks on one game

he's been mediocre all year.

our D line has been mediocre all year. The lack of effort in two playoff games is also a deterrent

awhen your offensive minded coach has to overrule you in Super Bowl. There are trust issues there.

he has never had a top ten defense.

Stop already with the fire Wilks posts. That D was superb throughout most/much of the game. Mahomes was stymied most of the times, and their star Pacheco was held in check on the run. In fact Niner D did better than I expected against the run which of late has been a weakness. Let's take a deep breath, settle down, then watch some of the film analysis that will be coming out in the next few days. Then post something that is based on that.

Wow a reasonable post

Ya.... cause the defense has played so well this year......
When we needed them to step in the 4th and OT last night they failed. In fact Mahomes made it look like it was inevitable.

How can you guys support Wilks ? Yesterday's game wasn't the norm for him, it was an aberration. He's struggled all year. Had his head coach call him down from the booth. Was criticized openly by Kyle for calling a lame blitz against Minnesota that shifted the tide away from SF. Even yesterday he looked lost late in the game when the team kept going up by 3 and instead of stepping on KC's neck, he went into prevent mode. Kyle had to call a TO and yell at him at one point.

Dont use 3 quarters of a Super Bowl to define a year's worth of atrocious playcalling. Our Dline minus yesterday underperformed. Our schemes were vanilla. Blitz calls were laughable. No reason we should keep him just to go through this hell again next year. No way !

Run the ball more with CMC In the 3rd Q and we most likely win too.

Hey man I'm with ya there. I was screaming to run the damn ball.

Spags was dictating what kyle was gonna run, when it should have been the other way. I don't care if they got 10 dudes in the box…f**king run it. 3 yards is better than an incompletion. Everything was so compact for them too. We didn't space them out and force them to react. When we did we often had success. Those outside pitches seems to be working just fine.

id love for Kyle to explain wtf that was all about. He's so damn smart defensively that it sometimes f**ks him…he knows the "rules" but who gives a s**t about those defensive rules when they're not really abiding by them.

Even if they stacked the box power run that s**t hat on a hat like the harbaugh days. Churn out those 3-4 yards
I think it's a combination of beefing up the right side of the line, and rebuilding a D-line rotation.

This.

Let's be honest, as everyone gushes over Mahomes and makes excuses about Greenlaws injury, the KC offense this year has been anything but an offensive juggernaut.

Any one of those things is "fixed" the 49ers win yesterday. s**t happens.

Apparently that means we trade everyone, fire our head coach and cut everyone People get too emotional and their brain doesn't work

Chiefs had their share of mistakes, fumble, WR running backwards, penalty w/ hitting aiyuk in head, but they STILL overcame them.

This is a good start. I knew when Feliciano went out is was going to be a problem.
Wilkes isn't going anywhere. I agree that at times this season, it looked like he was mis- managing the personnel, but the hope is that he will do better with a full off-season and year 2. He was hired into a scheme without his own guys, which is fine, because it was a good scheme with good coaches, but you bet on the continuity and have faith that he'll adjust with a full off season.
Switching defensive coordinators every year isn't helpful, and the player love Wilkes. Kyle needs to manage Wilkes though, and tell him exactly what he expects.

The muffed punt was the biggest.
