People really blaming Purdy? Really?
I get that this sucks but come on. He's in the bottom half of the reasons we lost.

Even IF they do win a Super Bowl eventually not sure I will be as happy as in envisioned growing up, especially with this group. Sure it will be great, but it will be more of a relief that we didn't choke

Was going off of comments early in this thread, but you're right.

Tell John Lynch to draft OL, OL/CB, LB, OL, CB/LB. Or for that matter draft studs.
A real ST coach and Sp Teams.
I feel confused. Not angry, not sad, not depressed. Just confused. I think we have a lot of what we need to win, but we keep shooting ourselves in the foot. Seriously, things didn't go right at all. Muffed punt friggin kyle willliams-esck, blocked PAT, 2nd and 4, not running in the 3rd, etc. In hindsight it doesn't seem like much, but it probably is...
In 30 years of life, I have seen 1 SB. 1994. Then nothing but pain and anguish since. I swear since 2011 we can't get out of our own way.
I haven't seen any and been a fan for 22 years

Winning a championship after a long drought isn't enjoyed the same way. It is relief, but what it does is free up all the years after that to just go with the flow.
Chiefs are the perfect example of that. When they won in SB 54 it was like the entire fanbase could die happy. Losing the next two years didn't even bother Chiefs fans I know that much. Then these last two years have been low stress, "whatever happens is fine because we won in 2019" experiences, too. And that's only increased since the recent two. They are good for 30 years now even if their entire team retired tomorrow.
It's why SF Giants fans hold the 2010 title in highest regard, but also with the most pain since actually pulling it off was excruciating. 2012 and 2014 were cake walks by comparison. Sure, the last decade since then hasn't been great, but 2010-2014 is still fresh enough in their memories. It takes about 20 years for the effect to wear off. To some degree I'm good for the rest of my life as a 49er fan because nothing will top the 1994 team for me even if they win another someday in my lifetime. That's just the way it goes.
Cubs fans that had 100 year drought are good for another 40 years still since the 2016 win, lol.

It's a need I just don't how you play one in base downs with Hargrave and Armstead getting those snaps.

I'm sorry for you man. Our showing has been abysmal and far cry from what we set as a standard back in the 80s and the 90s. I only hope that Kyle gets it together soon because our time is running out. We have at most 2 years really for our current window.

If the Chiefs can hold blatantly like they do. Always get all the favorable calls in the Playoffs and Super Bowl. With Mahomes running it. It's going to be a really tough 10 more years. I don't know of a fix. I don't see how you can add more Pro Bowl level players to a roster. We have enough talent. It's not a talent problem. Shanahan is a BIG GAME Choker. I don't think he can do it. But it's more Mahomes, the favorable calls, the NFL darling plus obviously how good he is. It's going to be really, really tough.
I don't think there is a FIX.

Easy fix. Dump the loser coach who call stupid plays at the most crucial parts of the game. Even Romo was calling him out. That's bad. When Romo does it you know there is a problem.

CMC is more to blame. So is Moody and the rookie special teams dude who kicked the ball on the punt.

Anyone under 40 hasn't really witnessed anything meaningful. If you tell me you were 8 when they won in 94 then you didn't witness it.
there are two separate niner fanbases now and that's the new normal. It's the same thing for bulls fans who never really saw MJ

I just look at the sb as an exhibition game. Its for entertainment. Neutral site, extended half time, buncha non football fans all in on it etc. Its not a real game. If u make it to the game ur already a champ. The sb aint even real to me anymore

Romo is the biggest choke artist in the NFL. Remember is fumbled FG snap that lost them the game and many others. Its easy to make those calls when your not the one making them. Trust me I coached High School for 12 years as an OC and even in high school you for some reason lose your mind at times. I can't imagine what it's like in a SuperBowl. We did not lose because of Kyle, we were there because of him and the talent. A muffed punt that I believe lost us the game is not his fault. Ray ray should of jumped on it instead of trying to pick it up.

I was 12 in 94 and I still don't really remember it. So yea there's the old and new school fanbases.
