Ok so it's been almost a full day since I made this thread, and this is how I'm feeling right now:

The devestation effect is wearing off a little quicker than I expected. I am finding that the anxiety I had in the 2 weeks leading up to the SB was a lot worse than how I feel now. I can at least focus on other stuff now, and I don't have a rapid heartbeat thinking about the future. I think this massive anxiety buildup led to the explosion of negative emotion that resulted from the outcome of the game.

I dunno, I think maybe this experience on top of all the past losses will build some scar tissue to help with some perspective on how to deal with my feelings throughout the season. I'll temper my expectations. This team had everything going for it in how the roster was built, coaching, and injury luck to win it all. But the game came down to really bad luck (Greenlaw injury, punt bouncing off our guy's foot), mistakes made by our "all stars" at inopportune times, and coming up against the best Coach/QB combo since Walsh/Montana. There have been worse teams that won SBs and far better teams that choked just the same (18-1 patriots). Nothing is ever guaranteed for better or worse no matter what they seem. With that in mind, I'm not going to get caught up in offseason news, draft, etc. And will tune in week to week during the season, but not pay attention to any of the sports talk or hype/controversy around the team. They will either win it all or they won't, but the journey to that answer isn't worth worrying over constantly.

Good for you dude. Plus, we love having you around anyhow. See you week 1...or earlier. Enjoy life, my friend.

Thanks man, see you week 1. I won't be following the draft, but I'm with you in that Niners better go OL or else lol
Take a long break. Football will always be there when you're ready to comeback and have a better perspective on how to balance your life. I was lucky enough to see the last 4 Superbowl wins and of course the painful 3. Last night was painful but have better understanding and perspective in life. Family, bills and all the crap things happening on our country. I got older and football is not as important to me. Believe me I love this team, but I learned and have a different view now. Good luck and when you're ready everyone is still here talking smack about this team that we love.

If they don't draft OL, might as well just check out of the season.
I immediately pivoted to watch TV after KC scored in OT. For me it was like "nothing to see here"

I had to console my son with the "it's an entertainment league not a sporting league" speech and I told him " the 49ers lost, we didn't because paid up we eating good and living good"

Afterwards he was good to go and smack talk to the hating cowboys fans and reminded them that exactly four weeks ago they were belting out their QBs refrain "Here we go … to the house". He shut those haters up just as I taught him to and we onto life and the draft upcoming

We in the fandom for fun and smack talk but not for our own personal livelihoods so once you have true perspective on how we are here to have fun talk smack and beat our chests to other fans you can always deal with this stuff properly. That's what fans do

Good for you. I should have also added that you're not a player or a coach. It's not your responsibility to play or to coach these games, and you're not paid a bunch of money for that either. Build a great life. Enjoy your life. If you want to enjoy watching football next season, go for it, but you're not obligated to do so either.

Damn that hurts. I'll tell you what, that whole taking over stadiums is gonna stop. Ppl are just too heartbroken to make the effort. This loss will set this fan base back for years. And probably the team too.

If Kyle doesn't hire an OC to call plays, I'm done until we get another coach. He can design the game plan and plays, but he CANNONT be the HC and play caller. Kyle is the reason we can reach the SB and the reason we lose the SB.

SOME OF US witness the year of the CAMELOT... and we will never be happy being 2nd place in the NFC and in the SUPER BOWL while our HC keeps getting labeled as a GREAT COACH..
