Kyle isn't this soft

That's what makes it worse. I don't think he has any regrets about his game plan for the SB.

He didn't fumble and muff a punt. Some of yall are ridiculous
Nope but he had multiple opportunities to overcome them and failed.
I should probably just step away for a while too. I put too much obsession on this team and website. Constantly checking all the time. And for what? Way too much heart break. Its killing me everyday. Will probably just delete all the s**tty social media too tbh. Peace out guys ✌️

YoungtoOwens; these losses SUCK, they hurt ,their disappointing and definitely leave us questioning a lot of different things ,,Myself,, I was blessed enough to be around for all of the early SB wins from 81-94 and was spoiled with all that success and then to go through the lean years of very few wins, bad Coaches and worse decisions made by the front office and now the experience the 3 SB losses its hard to put into words the range of emotion, its rough , IMHO I wouldn't quit though ,,maybe step back take a moment , let the loss get behind you..,For sure its not easy to be the Faithful,, but you are a valued member of all that the Faithful stand for ,,just look at the response to your question it caused us all to think and vent .. hope to see your continued posts ..
Winning the Super Bowl is great for a week or two then it's on to the draft anyway.

My teams (Tottenham Hotspurs & 49ers) have lost 8 straight cup finals , each one brings it's own unique flavour I've learnt to savour

I couldn't disagree more.

Winning a Super Bowl is celebrated for a week or two. And good bragging ammunition for six months. But it's remembered forever.

It's the beautiful thing about sports. The current season/game matters infinitely more than any other. And then when it's all over, it's time to turn the page. But you still remember it from time to time.

Just one in my lifetime is all I ask for

Take a sabbatical from sports for a while man. These things hurt, keep an eye on what they do in the offseason. Decide then if you want to invest your heart into the season. If they're making improvements, invest, but if they have a lousy draft, and don't make a noticeable improvement, don't invest.
Somehow, I went from shock and pain SUnday, utter despondence through Monday afternoon, and by last night I was good (granted I put back several beers to ease the pain).

Amazingly I'm fine today. In the past, it would take me till Tuesday. Even last year with Philly because I think the unfairness of "what could have been" if we had a QB stung badly.

This is easily the worst SB/Championship game loss out of all of em (with KC 2019 taking second place, and Philly 2022/NYG 2011 tied for third place), but maybe, just maybe, after 7 times, I'm finally getting more calloused from the scars.

Here's to a swift (poor word choice) recovery for those still moving through the stages of grief. We got a franchise QB who's only gonna get better; first season without a question mark about the starting QB. Oh....and that two-year QB? He's got four playoff wins, including two NFC Championship game appearances, One Championship game signature victory/comeback, and a Super Bowl appearance where he showed incredible poise, played well enough to win, no turnovers, and proved the moment wasn't remotely too big.

Brock is the man. He's the best we've had since Young...he surpassed Garcia as the season went on. We're gonna have fun rooting for this guy and he's gonna be so hungry to get back.

Draft and target the following in FA: o-line, LB, secondary, WR.

On to 2024.
Bro, I'm 40 in July, as much as I'm hurting from this loss, and feel like the NFL got what they wanted, I refuse to quit on my team, I haven't seen my other teams win a title(Rockets in NBA, Rangers in NHL, I have seen Yankees in MLB, but once I remember or twice that's it), basically I ride and die as a fan of those 4 teams, never giving up on my teams.
What's worse, being a fan of a team like the Lions or the Browns or Chargers who are the biggest losers/non-contenders of the NFL or a team like the niners, who have no made 3 super bowls in 10 years and have nothing to show for them?

I go back and forth and the heartbreak of the SB losses and championship games is awful where as when the team is god awful, you're just frustrated at first, followed by a "who cares, they suck" mentality.

That said, recency bias is hard to overcome with SF. But ultimately, the dark years of 2003-2010; 2014-2018 were really really brutal. They had no hope. You thought they'd never ever be good again. The product was just terrible to watch. There was no talent, just watching awful, awful football.

We've seen some incredible games and all-time performances since then. The catch 3 with Harbaugh. The Saints thriller of 2019. The Packers snow game in 2021. The Greenlaw goal-line stop against Seattle in 2019. Some unbelievable The Lions comeback this year. Old-school beatdowns at the likes of Philly and Dallas.

Yes, we didn't close the deal. But I'll remember those games for the rest of my life. And that's getting me through this anguish.
The worst part is becoming the Buffalo Bills of the 2000s.

The tarnish placed upon the past era of Niner dominance will never go away.

I'm 36 years old. I barely remember 94. All I've known since is losing in the NFCCG and now 3 SBs. This team has done nothing but disappoint me. Mooch era…Harbaugh era… now Shanahan era. Nothing but losing. What's the point? It messes with my mental health and makes me unproductive at work and I neglect other areas of my life during football season.

I don't know what it's like to be a winner. You older folks should appreciate your memories because some of us don't have those.

Just think…..you're some nobody dude that the world doesn't give two chits about, now imagine the dudes that ruined their bodies and their mental health and think how messed up mentally and emotionally they are knowing that they may never see that game again.

After you think about that, think about the fact there's kids and people all over this country and world that can't even get out of bed because of physical ailments that they had no chance to prevent, or even worse there's kids and people that are being abused in the most horrific ways that people can be abused.

You seriously want to talk about your "mental health" because your team lost a game?

That's pretty ridiculous in the grand scheme of life dude. Go to the gym, go volunteer for a charity, or go do something that you're able to do that other people in this world might not have the ability to do.

Get over it, there's innocent children being blown up right now today somewhere in this fked up world and you're worried about your feelings because of a football game.

That's lame imo
I'm taking this loss surprisingly well............I guess subsconciously I felt the Niners wouldn't win it despite what my brain was telling me.

But going forward, I cannot dedicate this much energy to the team.

If the Niners make the playoffs this year, I will tune in and enjoy but the expectation THAT WE GOTTA f**kING WIN IT, WE MUST, WE MUST!!!! ....is largely reduced, maybe gone.

In fact, the playoff games were more frustrating than the Super Bowl, I guess because it was like "how tf are we losing to these teams.....at home??". Then the SB comes, and we dominate the first half, but that inner feeling was always guarded.

It really sucks, this loss absolutely has taken its toll on the fanbase. My brother has given up completely, doesn't want to follow the team at least until the postseason.

I doubt there's anyone that's going to be JUST AS hardcore as they were this season. The person who posted the stadium takeovers are going away, are very likely right.

All I can say is the football gods did a really good job at evening up the score. Dallas was 2-3 before we Dwight Clark had to leap out of the stadium for that catch....then we ripped off 4 wins before they could win their next and them beat them to 5 by a year. Pittsburgh somehow lucked into a 6th trophy by playing a Seattle team that was given zero respect compared to the Carroll teams that followed.

Giants had the easiest path to 4 ever (only take 5 conference games to do it), but are such a non show on the playoff stage, and now mediocre seasons at best. Packers paying the price with a lot of playoff exits.

Patriots had the long dynasty, but only could make it to 6.........and looks like it's gonna stay that way for a long ass time.

That's the only consolation I can offer.......that the #s are all balanced.

I don't know.....Pittsburgh started 4-0 before going to 6-2, Niners started 5-0 before going to 5-3, Patriots started 4-3 before going to 6-4, Dallas started 2-3 before going to 5-3.

They are right around each other and all had dominant streaks. Nobody went from 0 to 5 faster (nor without blemishes).....that's the Niner legacy over all the franchises ever, if it counts to anyone. Pittsburgh had two back to backs within a few years of each other, but then faded off in the '80s passing the torch to the Niners at 3 rivers stadium in '81, not returning as a playoff team until the '90s and not a force until the mid 2000s.

Patriots really had nothing to write home about until Brady. Dallas has same SB record as us, but absolutely futility in even being in the neighborhood of a 6th Lombardi. As hard as you think it is for the 49ers, much harder for the Cowboys.

I think if SF gets their 6th lombardi sometime in the Shanahan era, a lot of this bad taste will go away. You ultimately can't win every SB (hell the Patriots played in 9000 consecutive AFC championships and only have 6 to show for it), so by getting some recency in there, it will help the image a lot.

I can't stand all the a*****es on social media who keep bringing up the 29 year drought, and choking, and other s**t......as if a win the other night suddenly erases all that????

f**kers.
