Honest question: should I quit?

Even if we won this superbowl it would of been cool but haven't had the same care and excitement since that 2013 nfc championship game. It rekindled when we had rookie mr irrelevant going on a winning streak all the way to the nfc championship then of course he blows out his elbow. Still have heart in it but its darkened.

Wore my jersey the next day to work cause I'm still proud especially with our culture and our fans. Was shocked to see multiple others wearing their 9er gear too

Not sure how you conclude this about Shanahan. So, question for you. How old was Andy Reid when he first won a Super Bowl? And how old is Shanahan?

And if you have written off Shanahan, why are you still here?

Its his opinion.

Andy Reid is one example in Shanny's favor but there are way more losing super bowl coaches that never got it done. Plus, Andy Reid happened to draft one of the GOATS, a guy which Shanny passed on and had a chance to get in a year we had no QB

You don't have to be in love with Shanahan to root for the team. Questioning leadership is a healthy discussion. That is what this discussion board is for.

Amen. Ppl like the Reid, Shanny comp, yet realize Andy didn't win the SB in Philly. He had to get fired, learn that lesson and refocus in a new town. So maybe the same for Kyle. Lot of scar tissue in SF with big loss after loss that builds up in all our guys. Dungy is a HOF coach but couldn't get it over the line with Tampa they fired him and traded for a coach and got a ring.

You're making it seem like getting fired was the lesson they needed... but in reality it was getting Mahomes and Peyton Manning that put them over the top.

Tampa didn't win the either, they won with Brad Johnson. That doesn't happen without Dungy being fired. Dungy was challenged on O if one goes back to that era. So that was a HOF coach fired, and it was the right move, it got Tampa what they needed at the time, and a ring.

I think you're oversimplifying this. There were a lot of variables in that 2002 season. Gruden came over to the Bucs via trade and fortunately for them they ended up playing the Raiders in the SB, the team he just left. The Raiders pro bowl center went missing before the game, and Gruden knew all the calls/tendencies because the Raiders hired Bill Callahan from within.

That doesn't prove Dungy couldn't win it all with the Bucs. He just didn't.

Another problem with the Buccaneers example is that you would argue they improved offensively going from Dungy to Gruden, yet I don't think you would argue we would improve offensively, going from Kyle to another coach.

My perspective is we finally got a QB we can build around, and he's taken us to an NFC championship and a SB. Kyle needs to build an OL and get better defensive coaching and some corners and we're right back there.

I don't think Kyle getting fired would fix his clock management, situational issues... getting a HOF QB like Manning or Mahomes or Brady fixes everything.

My logic and follow me here, just like Dungy built up the D and couldn't get it over the line. Now Shanny built up the O and can't get it. If we hire Belichick, that's the greatest D mind of all time. He's > Spags. He can run the D. And we still run the Shanny O, which is the best part of Shanny. We got the playbook, and the guys know it. Meanwhile, when we get late game, our balls don't drop off cuz we no longer have Shanny, the nutless wonder. We actually make bold moves in crunch time. Winning moves. Not punting in plus territory in NFCCGs or taking the ball '3rd' in the SB OT.

That's the only way I see us winning. Or Jed and Lynch lock Kyle in a room and make him watch analytics on repeat for weeks. But this problem has been years in the making and KS isn't getting better at big game decisions. SB 58 was his biggest disaster.

Anyone can run the Shanny offense. It's easy.

Hates Kyle the nutless wonder but supports a DC that makes Kyle look like he's Dan Campbell.

No doubt. The last time he was on the field in the 4th quarter he walked off giving the team a lead to win. Same with OT.

HOU and MIA doing fine, right? sometimes you lose so many big games, imagine if we get back to the SB and it's vs KC. Do our own guys have confidence? Or do they have a 'here we go again mentality'. That's a challenge right now..

Next time on 3rd and 4 to win the game he's gonna hit the winning pass too. Will learn and get better.

Bellicheck scored less points vs Spags than Kyle did with the GOAT. Why would the team have more confidence in him and say Klay Kubiak vs Spags?

Steve Wilks certainly did that in 2nd half

I'm 36 years old. I barely remember 94. All I've known since is losing in the NFCCG and now 3 SBs. This team has done nothing but disappoint me. Mooch era…Harbaugh era… now Shanahan era. Nothing but losing. What's the point? It messes with my mental health and makes me unproductive at work and I neglect other areas of my life during football season.

I don't know what it's like to be a winner. You older folks should appreciate your memories because some of us don't have those.
