Such a tough loss, I've got nothing as far as second guessing our team.
It's maybe easy to second guess Kyle, but I've got two things for us to consider:
1) Mahomes/Chiefs are out of conference opponent
2) Kyle might eventually be a lot more aggressive bc of these repeated losses.
Lamar is like 18-1 vs the nfc, so Mahomes being better should be very tough as well.
In an odd way, maybe having the harder conference matters more. Kinda like those wars in the '90s with Dallas being the "real Super Bowl" was legit.
At a certain point we need to play him more often.
So the thing to look forward to is us facing them this year at home. If we somehow pull off that win, then I think the monkey could be off our back. It's not the Super Bowl, but a victory over KC cannot be understated.
Secondly, the new Seahawks coach was the ravens DC. Maybe if he can improve their defense to the point where it feels like those harbaugh era battles, that could be good for Brock. Even as much as I hate Seattle, I could be ok losing once a year to them if it meant Brock became unstoppable.
I'm optimistic long term. I like to think there's a high level piece missing to beat KC. They should be able to be beaten without an otherworldly God QB. That Spagnuolo 3rd down blitz has to be cracked….if we had that in our back pocket we would've won this game easily.

The missing piece simply could have been a guy running two feet to his left in punt coverage.
Improve the roster where you can. Don't make drastic changes that are unnecessary when you lost an OT heartbreaker to a great team.

I honestly don't see much to look forward too. I just can't go there. We aren't going to be 100% healthy again. The schedule will be tougher. We can go 17-0 but there is still the Shanahan factor.
Beating KC in a regular season game? Not sure how much that matters. They were shaky this year and still won it all.

I can't see winning with Kyle or the Yorks. I see more NFC Championship losses and Super Bowl losses. You are dreaming if you think they can win with this.

No silver lining. no hope. as long as shanny is here, this will be it.
The 49ers will never have a roster or health like they had this year. This was it. And he blew it. He always does. He always will.
The Chiefs only had 13 points halfway through the 4th qtr. And the "genius" with pro bowl qb, running back, wrs, te, fb mustered 9 points and couldn't win. He's a f**king loser. He always will be.

Go to bed man. You're acting like we were outclassed in this game. OT loss against a 3 time SB winner in 5 years. Other teams are good too.

THIS. KS is the reason we lost. I don't care about how much of a "genius" this guy claims to be. Let Brock develop under someone else who doesn't constantly have training wheels attached to this brain.

That's correct. You are right.

I'm not that tired yet and I haven't had enough to drink.

Actually that will mean something because we haven't beaten Reid/Mahommes at all. They've beaten us by 10+ (2018, Super Bowl 54, and 2022) and they've beaten us close, Super Bowl 58. Same as when we beat Dallas in the regular season in 94. You have to get over that mental hurdle. This team needs to get contributing draft picks. Treat the draft picks like this may be your last draft.

The Eagles beat KC in the regular season and they celebrated like they won a Superbowl too. Worked out great for them

The Eagles were a flawed team and they don't have the history with the Chiefs that we do. Not nearly the same. Furthermore, no way we'd celebrate like we won the SB if we beat KC in a regular season game. But it would be a step forward.

Exactly. Moral victories. Beating them in the regular season doesn't give us back those SB rings. The only thing you'll get from a Chiefs loss vs is at home is a chuckle from Mahomes.
Here's the point. We lost, with a loaded roster, to the weakest Chiefs team in the Mahomes era. To even get to this point, we had to get through a season relatively unscathed (besides Huff) and were fortunate enough to clinch home field with only a 12-5 record. Then on a rainy night we let a running back take the ball from practically his own end zone deep into our territory only to have the kicker miss a FG. The following week a dope coach left 10 points on the field bc he refused to kick two 40 yarders in the second half when his team was on the ropes, but decided to kick a FG in the first half from the 2 yard line when his team was doing anything it wanted at will.
All of that went our way and we still got beat in the SB. And folks are optimistic that we can run this back and expect the same results ? Lol, this is comical…
