We need a guy like Spags. An elite coordinator who has already tried and failed to be a HC. Having an elite mind who is fine being a coordinator for a few years would allow for some badly needed continuity. They were probably going for that with Wilkes, so it'll be interesting to see how it shakes out given his scheme is quite predictable. Do you go for continuity in hopes he adjusts and gets better, or do you scrap it again for a 4th coordinator in 4 years. I'm guessing he's going to stay unless there's a candidate out there the team feels very strongly about for the long-term. Bill B is not it.

Finding a Spags is a pipe dream. Almost all coordinators are just looking for the next best gig that gets them a promotion to HC. We also missed out on that chance this year when Fangio joined Philly and that's going to be scary next year. Those guys are few and far in between and are rarely looking for work.

Personally a Bill B running the D would have won us the SB this year if he was on this coaching staff...a Bill B would win us one next year if we somehow got him in. He's been quite possibly the best organizer of NFL defenses in the league going back to the 80's when he was helping the Tuna curb stomp opponents to 2 SB wins before leaving.
According to article on this page, Fangio has been interviewed by KS and failed last year.

I just don't see him working under some other head coach after having run his own fiefdom for 20+ years .

Can't even imagine the mixing of cultures with his style of coaching.

Obviously would love to have him because of his knowledge and adaptability… but that would be two very different rooms between O/D

You have the best defensive minded coach in the league. And Kyle's replacement when he f**ks it up once again…

it's a win win…

The only place any of this is happening is if you simulate it in Madden.

Even Madden would reject the idea
just give me Vrabel
The only thing that makes me believe BB would come is to pick on KS brain,so he has an edge when he's HC again the following season vs 1/3 of teams that runs the same system
and i think KS is aware of that and the risk for him is limited so he could pull the trigger
It's this really even an option?!
Bill Belicheat as a consultant, Pete as the DC as we predominantly run his cover 3 scheme. ANAHEIM!

He can be Kyle's head coach. At least he doesn't CHOKE in the BIG GAMES. He knows how to win the big one.

He lost 2 super bowls

Lost two Super Bowls to the same wild card team with a lesser QB.

Lost to a backup QB too in Foles.

What would be the backlash if Kyle lost a Bowl to Blake Bortles?
Belichick had won multiple championships prior to those losses so that gives you a good bit of leeway.

With the GOAT. Dude's got a losing record without Brady.

BB has always had good defenses.

I really don't think it's even an option. I'd definitely welcome him on any capacity.

PLEASE write the Yorks! Just say"NO" to locker room dividing BS! Brandon Staley!
Google "Brandon Staley caused division" (see "ESPN," "Reddit") articles etc...
Favored players from his past teams, his system. On a player's bday he favored, he built that player up, downplaying a bday of another player etc....
That's just one example. Shameful "leader."
I want winners!!!! ;)

49ers dot com...."contact us" is anther platform.
Let's be heard who we want...just not this clown.
Would make entire team worse. They regressed even tho talented.

Fangio is a 3-4 guy and that may have been a deciding factor.

Staley is a Fangio disciple and a 3-4 guy so I don't think he's the guy either.
