Who will be the Niners new DC?-Rooney Rule Now Applicable

So, we've only interviewed:
Staley
Sorenson

We still have interviews planned for:
Bullocks
UNKNOWN EXTERNAL CANDIDATE #1
UNKNOWN EXTERNAL CANDIDATE #2

The concern for many:
The remaining candidates may be only to fulfill the Rooney rule

Doesn't Rooney Rule only apply for HC and higher?

It applies to coordinator positions now too.

looks like it's going to be Staley or Sorensen.

Feel like Sorensen would make more sense. I read somewhere that he was helping Kyle with the defensive planning more than Wilks was.

WTF? Kyle was doing the defensive planning and not the DC? Wonder why he wasn't fired sooner if that was the case, never heard of that s**t before from a HC who is also the OC lol

Me too. Hopefully we hear more by Wednesday on other candidates. I really want Vrabel, but its not looking good, so my next choice is Ulbrich!!!

If Sorenson developed that game plan against KC, just hire him now.

It will be Staley since he's the one none of us want and we can have that glorious feeling we always feel during draft time to warm us up for that disappointment
If Bullocks counts as a Rooney Rule interview then the two mystery candidates can't both be just for the Rooney Rule.

Unless of course this front office doesn't know how the Rooney Rule works. Which… would that even be surprising at this point? This is a team that didn't even know how overtime in the most important game
of the season—if not franchise history—worked.
This update is subterfuge/bs in my opinion. There's no way they're just now getting around to Bullock.

The source is apparently Kyle Shanahan himself texting Maiocco. So take it for what it's worth.

I just think it's a bad look. It tells me their plan A 100% fell through.
