only way i see this possible is to give up draft picks to NY. Joe Douglas runs that show, not Saleh, and Douglas isn't going to just give SF anything.

Could Kyle bring him in under a different title? Like say something that would be an upward move instead of lateral, (make up a job title) that way Douglas could do nothing.

Don't think so, but I agree with you, Ulbrich would be a great hire. It's possible something is being worked out, if say, Ulbrich and SF had mutual interest, and Saleh has decided that he wants to take over playcalling, I could see a 3rd or so, and it would be worth it. Let's hope for a long shot.

no internal candidate was good enough last season. And since out of the internal candidates, he's the second or third option because the first option does not want to take over. Why would we even think about going internal? We have so much time and the only ones who needs a defensive coordinator take your time do it right get the best one out there I guarantee the best one out there is not internal. Search the college ranks search the NFL ranks. No reason to choose now

I don't want Staley so it will probably be him. I can't see him being much better than Wilks, maybe worse tbh.

Staley was a good DC for the Rams but he came off as a prick last year during his post game interviews and he clearly lost the locker room with the Chargers.
