Staley over Mortenson easily. Mortenson has limited experience as a DC. Its a no brainer.

Who the heck is Mortenson?

He's going to drop Nick into coverage like he does to Joey

LOL Nick will want to strangle that pencil neck once he sees him warming up

Yeah, it's far from a certainty, but I think David's reasoning for why this may be taking this long is more than plausible. At this point I hope they are working to pry Ulbrich from New York.

Offer him $15 mil a year, the way he coordinated that attack on Mordor was unbelievable. Frodo and Gandolf didn't even have to call a timeout to stop him from calling an all out blitz on.

Lol ya'll are funny
If Shanahan is heavily involved in defensive gameplan, would he be able to call defensive plays efficiently?
Was there ever HC calling offense and deffense?

Aragorn is a game manager at best. He's just surrounded by talent - Fellowship of the Ring, Kingdom of Gondor, High Elves of Rivendell, stud White Wizard, etc. He'll be found out eventually.

I talked about that earlier on this topic but I would prefer Shanahan being the official DC than Brandon Staley being hired.
I mean Staley had that great season with the Rams, the Covid year but apart from that it was mediocre at best with the Chargers.
Their defense was terrible this season. Where's the improvement from Steve Wilks seriously?
Kyle is basically the architect of the defense anyway.

Wait, so Kyle is going run the offense AND defense? Lol, straight up Madden s**t

No way! He was the prince we were promised! First round pick for King! Long flowing hair, and cool nick name, and a elite chin. Never once saw him wear his hat backwards. He may have had a below average couple of decades, but he has that IT factor. l33t.

Have you seen Staley's DC experience?...one season as a Rams DC taking over Wade Phillips made defense. If Staley was good, I guarantee McVay would have wasted no time bringing him back. This guy will be the biggest mistake.

The fact that as a D coordinator people haven't brought up the helms deep battle as one of if not the greatest defensive stands we have ever seen is embarrassing.
