More than likely won't BUT reasons such as him going home, coaching for the team he played for, knowing that NJ is a sinking ship and that whole coaching staff is getting canned in a year. Toss in the fact that the HC is a defensive guy. He won't get the recognition he deserves there…simply put it's basically a promotion looking at it from that standpoint. just a better opportunity if he wants to be a HC.

it's not really apples to apples but we did it for McDaniels with Welker. Fangio basically did it this yr….maimi and him "mutually parted ways" dude was hired by Philly within 24hrs 🤔

All true.

As realistic as bellicheck imo
There must be a reason they haven't hired a DC yet. They may be trying to work out the details if it's Ulbrich. Maybe their first and second choices passed and now they're scrambling to find someone.

I really don't want to see someone one th staff get promoted. First of all there's the lack of experience as a DC. Plus I would like to see someone come in and give the defense a fresh look. Stay with the wide 9 if they want to but add some tweaks that make it harder to attack.

Just read on twitter people think it will be Sorenson.

Interesting - just saw that Ulbrich was a/the linebackers coach for the Falcons during their 2016 SB run.

That was my first guess as well but we'll see.
One thing is certain. Kyle had his mind made up about firing Wilks long before the SB. He wouldn't have done it so quickly without having someone already lined up for the job if he wasn't anxious to get rid of him. He also gave Wilks a better shot at landing somewhere else.

I agree, it's a make it or goodbye year for Saleh. A lot rides on last legs Rodgers. Ulbrich would get to go home, probably receive a promotion, then have some security in the short and medium term.

Yeah a few of you said he makes the most sense.

In a way yes, but also make sense, but I guess he wasn't ready last year either? Regardless I hope whoever it is works out well.

Yeah, I would have a few questions that I hope the reporters asked.

1) If he was not qualified last year, what makes him more qualified now?

2) One of the things that was reported was that Shanahan wanted a front 7 guy. Sorensen is a DB guy.

3) What took so long? lol

4)How successful will he need to be this season to prevent him from being replaced with Robert Saleh should he become available next season?

As long as we have a DC by week 1 we're all good.
