Very interesting.

This would be the best hire out of all the prospects so far in my opinion.

It would be AWESOME if he brought L'Jarius Sneed with him.

KC pundits are saying the Chiefs will let Sneed walk rather than pay him market value.

I like the idea of a Spag disciple, however, much of what Spag was able to do this past season was due to the fact he had three very good CBs that could play man or zone equally well. We don't have that quality in our secondary. Merritt would have some work to do.

Besides having good CBs, KC did a good job all season of scheming up blitzes that worked to get a free rusher. I don't know how much of that had to do with Merritt, but that's one element I'd love to add to the 49ers defense.
I don't know enough about any of these four guys, including line coaches on our own squad to make a call. It seems it is down to these four correct?

Merritt came out of nowhere? He seems he could be a yes man. We will see.

Seems like he could be a yes man? Based on what exactly?

They tagged him. It was on the Larry Krueger show this morning.

I watched some clips of him youtube. He had quite a pleasant personality almost Wilks like. He seems the type that would not stir any pot.

I didn't see that. I did read if they did it's almost $20m and they have until mid-July to sign him. If not they would agree to his trade request. So it seems they might or will but then no action until mid-July. I am not sure we can afford it anyway. Brock on third base waiting to come home in one year. Build the piggy bank.

According to Chiefs fans on Reddit, Merritt was likely a big reason their CB's all played so well. Basically took late-round projects and turned them into gems.
