Only external candidates count for the purpose of satisfying the Rooney rule.

Very interesting.

This would be the best hire out of all the prospects so far in my opinion.

It would be AWESOME if he brought L'Jarius Sneed with him.

KC pundits are saying the Chiefs will let Sneed walk rather than pay him market value.

I like the idea of a Spag disciple, however, much of what Spag was able to do this past season was due to the fact he had three very good CBs that could play man or zone equally well. We don't have that quality in our secondary. Merritt would have some work to do.

They tagged him. It was on the Larry Krueger show this morning.

No they didn't. They told him he could seek a trade, at that point they would tag and trade him, or can tag him by the deadline and work on a trade. They might also decide to let Sneed walk and tag Jones

I still do not understand why it took so long to interview this guy.

kyle must have really needed some time off? PTSD central over here

Or maybe Bullocks was on vacation, like damn near every coach/player after the season is over.

According to Chiefs fans on Reddit, Merritt was likely a big reason their CB's all played so well. Basically took late-round projects and turned them into gems.

If you can't beat 'em, steal 'em!

whole league has been doing that to us for years
If Merritt gets it, he should send a thank you card to Deebo

Short Kreug video- talks about the Jets/Ulbrich and other candidates.
So if it's between no DC experience candidates, who do you guys like?
Sorensen, Bullocks or Merritt?

Merritt. I would love to get someone that's worked under Spagnuolo.

Ward was undrafted and Sneed was a 4th round pick who primarily played safety in college. If anything his ability to identify and coach db talent is f'ing next level.
Snippet from Shanahan interview

Shanahan: So explain to me how you were able shut down my receivers, tight end, and brilliant play calling

Meritt: Simple. Your play calling in the passing game sucks some major ass. I didn't have to plan much since we knew exactly what you were callin because of lyour predictability. Why do you think you're 0-3 in Superbowls ?

Shanahan: Ummm... Joan, can you in bring Daniel Bullocks for his interview.

I'll take the guy that wasn't passed over in favor of Wilks.
