Who will be the Niners new DC?-Rooney Rule Now Applicable

OMG If we hire pete carrol...Wouldn't that be something. He can teach us how to cheat and win lol.
Brandon Staley. Don't even say stuff like that.

Anthont Lynn

He just was hired by the commanders
I would love Vrabel, but I just don't want to keep going through this revolving door at DC. He will definitely get another HC opp, especially if the defense is great.

Phil Parker makes the most sense to me if we can lure him away from the NCAA, money talks. He's a lifetime DC that doesn't care about being a HC, always has good defenses, adapts well, has evolved his scheme over the years, and he will gain the players respect.

That is telling.

Won a Super Bowl as a DC and that's good enough for me!!

No he didn't. He was already coaching the Chargers when Rams won. He was only the Rams DC in 2020.

Oh yah that was Raheem Morris.
I think Bullocks is the obvious choice don't you?

Phoenix brought up a good point—why didn't he get promoted last offseason?

Honestly, I'm kinda on the Brandon Lynch bandwagon.

His point is that Lynn was a former HC that Kyle brought in.

he might be the only name that would want to take the job.

imo Vrabel is coming off a place where folks have good opinion of him. Doing alot, with little. Beating top teams with the talent he had...garbage QBs he had.

for him to come to us, and have to do things Kyle's way?... and potentially lose credibility if our defense struggles? he'll be in Wilks situation next year. Scapegoat!

Bill Belichick? LOL he ain't taking this job to be under the spoiled kid of Mike Shanahan.

Didn't know much about him or his D as I am not really a college football follower. I do like what this video provided on him though. Interesting choice you've brought up. 👍🏽

Not Wilks!

Their preference is clearly to stay in house and the finalists last year were two guys from outside the organization. I don't believe anything has changed in the last year.

You can be an experienced assistant coach and still not be seen as someone that would be a strong playcaller. Same thing for the Merritt guy from KC that everyone keeps bringing up. He's been an assistant for 20 years and has yet to get a coordinator look.

You might struggle to hire an accomplished, yet recently fired, HC to be a DC here… but let's not pretend this isn't a desirable job. The reason Wilks was here in the first place was because the two previous guys were hired as HC's by other teams.

Nobody is going to scared off because Wilks wasn't a good match and we sent him out of here.
