I'm thinking not even knowing the names of the players he was going up against might be part of that reason...or maybe knowing that Kittle would need to be kept in as a blocker against that pash rush? Those details are probably a little helpful in game planning.

That he didn't even know Aiyuk's name is kind of mind boggling honestly.

That or being a straight up dick.
Yeah, that's more on point with what I think he was actually doing.

This. Not a good look.

He was clearly being sarcastic

More than anything else he was offering a defense of Wilks based on a single game performance in the SB. Basically 'the defense played better than the offense in the SB'. It's moronic. Wilks is gone because of performance over 20 games, not 1.

I interpreted it as more of him T-bagging Aiyuk after the DBs he coaches absolutely shut Aiyuk down in the SB. Just my take obviously, but I think people are reading way too much into it.

He said "Ayo—whatever his name is" so it's pretty obvious to me he didn't know how to pronounce it.

He called him Aiko or whatever. The man didn't know the name of his position group's starting All-Pro WR opponent.

There's clearly a reason why this dude hasn't gotten a DC job yet despite having a very impressive resume. The way he was talking coupled with his body language leads me to believe he's got a self-destructive attitude.

In his mind he could have been defending his DB's as well. If I remember right, there was one or two scuffles during the game. Brandon does tend to get under the skin of guys, mostly with his tendency to block through the whistle.

You would be surprised how so many coaches / players don't know other players.

Either way, he sounded like dbag in the interview. Which would be fine, I don't mind cocky swag like that. But this guy's been a DBs coach like 20 years now. He can't be talking all this s**t.

Merritt may very well not be our DC. But it won't be because of a casual talk show segment from over a week ago. That's ridiculous.

Regardless it didn't stop him from getting an interview. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism. Happens in all facets of life.

Yet he was interviewed.
