Simply disagree. He displayed a lack of class and professionalism.

I'm thinking not even knowing the names of the players he was going up against might be part of that reason...or maybe knowing that Kittle would need to be kept in as a blocker against that pash rush? Those details are probably a little helpful in game planning.
That he didn't even know Aiyuk's name is kind of mind boggling honestly.
I interpreted it as more of him T-bagging Aiyuk after the DBs he coaches absolutely shut Aiyuk down in the SB. Just my take obviously, but I think people are reading way too much into it.
Regardless it didn't stop him from getting an interview. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism. Happens in all facets of life.

That or being a straight up dick.

He called him Aiko or whatever. The man didn't know the name of his position group's starting All-Pro WR opponent.
There's clearly a reason why this dude hasn't gotten a DC job yet despite having a very impressive resume. The way he was talking coupled with his body language leads me to believe he's got a self-destructive attitude.

This is just crazy to me. 16 days after Wilks' departure and Friday evening of the week we were "expecting" to finish the search by the end of and we still don't know who it is.
If after all this time it's Sorensen, that's going to be extremely underwhelming and a sign that this team's
plan A, B, AND C all slapped the team in the face. There better be something splashy brewing or this is a bad look.

You gotta think that some candidates did slap the 49ers in the face. Wouldn't you, if you couldn't bring at least one or two guys with you. To me, the only outside candidate who makes sense to me is Mike Vrabel. I'm sure Bosa is pulling for him too with there Ohio St. connection. But aside from that I think he's a players coach and I think the defense would follow his lead.
Come on Kyle make it happen!!!

Like I said before, coaches that are on a coordinator track usually get there within ten years.
This guy has been a position coach for 20 years and even Spagnuolo didn't bother bringing him along when he took the HC job with the Rams. I think its pretty clear that he's a really good secondary coach but I think his comments are indicative of at least some of the reason why he's stayed at the same coaching level for so long.

You know who McDuffie and Snead are right? KC's secondary straight up shut us down.
Hiring Merritt is a boon for us and a loss for the Chiefs. Not to mention, Kyle has someone in the building who literally stonewalled him in the biggest game.
Regardless if Kyle chooses to pick his brain or not, he's on our team.
For clarity I would rather hire Rivera or Vrabel. But if it's Sorenson or Merritt, I'm taking Merritt.
Originally posted by JR80Forever:I don't think Vrabel will even be interviewed. It's a unique job. Vrabel, who probably doesn't even want to be a DC, would want to bring his own guys and use his own scheme. And its March, pretty late for an outside guy to come in. Not a situation someone like Vrabel walks in to. All signs point to an internal hire, Bullocks or Sorenson. And whoever it is between the two, Kyle will be heavily involved. It may have been more beneficial to keep Wilks around for a second year, but I believe Bullocks or Sorenson will do a good job. with our personnel and defensive foundation, it's hard to completely f**k up, tbh. Wilkes wasn't really in lockstep with Kyle or the personnel and he still had them as 3rd scoring defense
Vrabel please!

Still want Merritt by the way. So ridiculous that some fans on here are falling for the propaganda and don't want him because of a sound bite from a casual talk show segment last week one that nobody on here knew about until last night.
