Still want Merritt by the way. So ridiculous that some fans on here are falling for the propaganda and don't want him because of a sound bite from a casual talk show segment last week one that nobody on here knew about until last night.
Other than the fact that he worked under Spagnola why do you want him?

He won a Super Bowl in New York when he wasn't even with Spagnola.

The 2018 Cardinals' pass defense was the only good thing about them.

His resume speaks for itself.

Yea to me it's a complete wait and see hire, just like any of the other candidates who don't have reputations as HCs (Carroll, Bill, Vrabel). Might be good, might not. Nothing that screams we need to have this man.

That said, his comments don't really mean anything one way or the other to me.

lol why are ppl so butthurt that another coach from a team that beat our offense up in the Super Bowl is calling out our scheme ?

y'all are the same people making jokes when Harbs backslapped Schwartz after we beat Detroit. Didn't seem to bother everyone back then…

Kyle got called out. He's been getting called out by a lot of media heads since that SB debacle. Finally a coach calls him out and you guys got your panties in a twist.

Im all for this guy coming on board. And I hope he tells Kyle to STFU every time he tries to mess with his defensive schemes….

Did that '11 Giants team even have a standout secondary? I remember their pass rush playing great again in their playoff run, after the defense was mostly beat up and down throughout most the year.

VRabel is the only other wide nine guy I know out there.

I am curious if he and or Lynn from UCLA were or will be spoken to.

Either way, if it is Sorenson, the one thing I did like hearing is that supposedly he helped with the game plan against KC. Maybe he'd be good.
I'd be ecstatic if it's Vrabel, and I'm a UCLA fan who watched every game Lynn coached, he's destined for the NFL.
There is a lot to like about Sorenson. Good 4 year college player, 10 year NFL career, straight to coaching under Pete Carroll. He seems to be very intelligent and energetic, like Demeco. I didn't know about the KC planning, but that's pretty cool.

His resume says hes a good DB coach nothing more,Wilks is also a good DB coach but that hasn't translated to success as DC.

It's pretty normal to go on a 3 week broken record rant in every single thread and needing more attention than a teenager on tiktok.

I hope the Niners work environment is so toxic that the D coordinator tells Kyle to STFU and Kyle gets so pissed he starts throwing hamberders against the wall, but since he was a s**tty QB growing up, misses, and hits Lynch in the face as he walks through the doorway. Then I hope Jed sees all the goddamned ketchup strewn across the walls and starts firing everyone, including himself, but appoints Merritt as owner, GM, and HC, on top of his DC duties. Then Merritt will lead the team to 20 SBs championships in a row.

am I doing this right?

Wilks had more experience as a play caller, plus he was a HC.

That said, ya you're correct. 20+ years you are who you are a coach when that's all you've done is coach DBs. Especially when you don't even know the players name your going against that says enough for me.

Exactly and while I'll admit Sorenson would be an underwhelming hire hes no more a question mark than any of the other candidates interviewed so far.
