??? I just found humor in the bickering. I was reading this like family/sibling banter to me. No disrespect meant to anyone. I don't think you would find any other person in here, including Kolohe who I've had some big arguments with in the past, accusing me of a lack of class...

But hey, I understand my response bothered you, so my apologies. I respectfully disagree with folks who have the opinion that we could do better than Kyle or that he should be fired. I acknowledge he isn't perfect, but no one else would be either.

No clue what he's even upset about…weird imo.

He was probably talking about me and not OTC.

He specifically said "@OnTheClock" tho

Sorry bro I know you meant no harm, you're like the stray that got caught in a crossfire.

ANYWAY!!!! Moving on.

My top 5 DC candidates (in no particular order):

Mike Vrabel
Rex Ryan
Bill Belichick
Pete Carroll
Ron Rivera

Brandon Staley would be cool and wouldn't be mad, but not in my top 5.

Think Rivera would be any good? I don't like the idea of Staley either, but all of those other names makes me so warm and fuzzy I'm already juiced for next season.

I'd love a sexy name like BB, I'd be ecstatic, but I just don't think there is any way in hell we bring someone of that caliber in to learn our system and can't bring their own coaches. I think it's gonna be someone that's familiar here with the coaches and system - even if it's from demeco or Salahs current staff.

You will get "who's that?" from "where?" and you will like it.

That worked spectacularly with the Saleh hire, so I'm good with that too.

If anyone was out of line it was Moon.

Yah I kinda lost my cool there though. My frustration level is high after that Super Bowl loss and just tired of people spamming the board with Shanahan slander.

yea i seen you call out somebodies moms...s**t happens

I don't think Pete Carroll wants to be DC either at this stage of his career. If he is not going to get a HC role, he might as well just retire.

Not sure why we'd necessarily want him. I don't think he's bringing any schematic brilliance to the table and we don't have an all time great talent at FS (among other things) to re-make the 2013 Seahawks.

I thought he was closer to a 12.4 now
I could swear someone saying KS is looking for a Fangio? The one article says that he indeed does not or let's say, at least not Vic himself. Given that Staley is out. Unless he does tell a different approach.
Here's my list of 10 I'd consider that should be available:

Ron Rivera (depending on scheme fit)

Marquand Manuel (Jets secondary coach)

Daniel Bullocks (internal hire)

Nick Sorenson (internal hire)

Brendan Daly (3 years as KC DL coach, past 2 years as LB coach)

D'Anton Lynn (USC DC)

Chris Kiffin (Houston LB coach)

Jerry Gray (defensive passing game coach with Green Bay)

Kris Richard (Co-DC in New Orleans 2022)

Richard Sherman (the shock hire), I'm half joking, many would rip this move.

Anyone thinking Bill or Carroll are coming here are dreaming. Staley is a terrible idea and Rex doesn't fit the culture IMO.
Tomsula will be the new DC.

I've heard a few people suggest Aaron Curry ILB coach for the Steelers. He played for Carroll so he has some foundation in the Seattle system which is the foundation of ours ( even though our scheme has evolved some since 2017).

Rivera 🤮

I feel like if we were gonna hire within they would have don't it last yr. Pass on all those guys.

I want nothing to do with anyone in GB as far as defense goes

agree with the 70 something guys. Just let them retire

The rest are interesting. Not splashy but neither were Saleh/Ryans.

Have to agree. Of those realistically available, I'd like to see Kiffin here most. Weren't Saleh and Ryan's both former LB coaches?

Some of these names are gross. This 49ers' team is aging and aging fast. The window with this group is closing. I'd be surprised if they had more than 1 or 2 more legitimate shots at a SB with this group. I don't think Kyle should be looking for some random young DC to learn on the job and hopefully develop into a good DC. This isn't 2017 when they were building the roster from the ground up. This roster is built to win now, and they need to strike the iron while it's still hot--for now. He needs someone with championship experience that he can hand the defensive keys to and not worry about. Someone that comes in and takes over the defense from day 1.

Shanny has to find a way to bring in Belichick--either as DC or an advisor. That's the move to be made.
