btw this thread is quiet where are the f'ing rumors?!

Bosa can absolutely play 3-4 OLB in base. If anything the 9ers would need to do the Fangio switch to 4-3 on pass downs. Why Vrabel.would make some sense.

You think so? Doesn't seem to match the scouting profile to me - he's not Aldon Smith

… if its rumors you want, your Mom's thread is on fire.

Nothing personal. Had to be done.

It's painful watching Bosa chase a QB who breaks the pocket. He's not an OLB.
I hope we come with a new and up and comer for our new DC.

Our front office is tight-lipped. Wouldn't be surprised if we get absolutely nothing until the hire is announced.

Doesnt help that Bosa is tackled to the ground trying to chase the QB.
What about Mike Ditka?

They don't need to announce interviews, it usually only comes out if they need to request permission from a team to interview a member of their staff or if an agent leaks it.

Considering he was never really good at anything except playing, and is 40 years past his prime.....
You can already see it....unless he somehow convinces Billy Belly to be DC, Shanahan will get trashed no matter who he chooses by the media.
The Niners are the only team with a DC opening atm, so this could take a minute.

I'd like someone older that likely isn't going anywhere after a good year or two.

This group doesn't have the luxury of time for someone to learn on the job and hopefully become a good DC. You're more likely to get Robert Saleh in 2017 than DeMeco in 2022 as a first-year DC even if it's a talented coach. It's a massive gamble to bring in a rookie DC.
