I know right, why haven't we heard of them interviewing in-house candidates yet?
Seeing so many rumors that it's gonna be Staley.

I am starting to wonder, is he just a horrific head coach but I DC wizard like Spags?

Problem I have is Spags still had a terrible Rams team in the top half on D when he was HC.

Brandon never ranked higher than 20 despite all that talent.

Hes put together a pretty good staff. Roman is a run game wizard but can't call a passing offense, Trestman is a passing wizard but can't call a run game.

Throw in Marcus Brady, put them together like Voltron and you have the greatest OC of all time.

Didn't he have a similar OC committee system when he was here and is one of the big reasons why the team used to have tons of delay-of-game penalties?
Is it possible Kris K is ready? I know he has said not interested but maybe the time is now. Love the guy but not sure of his total defensive vision.

Their best luck has come from within. If not Kris maybe another defensive assistant within.

The fact that there's a lot of wind that it's Staley makes me think it's not him. This team is usually so tight-lipped that the media's wind gets it wrong a lot.

Because those don't always get reported. . Unless a team requests permission to interview an assistant on another staff or an agent leaks something, then they can conduct interviews without it being public knowledge.

Report: Brandon Staley is set to join Kyle Shanahan's coaching staff

A day after Kyle Shanahan stated that his coaching staff wouldn't see any departures, two of his assistants left the team. Steve Wilks was fired as the club's defensive coordinator following a poor performance in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs.

Travis Kelce believes Kyle Shanahan made a mistake in Super Bowl overtime

With Wilks' exit, there's a vacancy for the defensive coordinator role in San Francisco. Several rumors abound regarding who will take the job, but now it seems like one option is emerging as the frontrunner in this race.

According to ProFootballTalk, the San Francisco 49ers have selected Brandon Staley as their new defensive coordinator. There's a strong feeling in the league that the team will anounce his arrival in the upcoming days.
