Its not that teams would trade for 3 SB losses. Obviously not.

They'd trade the opportunity to play in 3 SBs vs not playing on any. It'd be a safe bet that most other teams wouldn't lose 3 in a row.

That's correct. But it's also why I don't believe losing a Super Bowl is worse than being one of the other 30 teams. It's just simply as bad as being one of the other 30 teams.

The "you either win the Super Bowl or you don't" mindset I understand (and I understand some who disagree; we watch 6 months of football after all, not just the playoffs or one game).

It's the "losing the Super Bowl is worse than missing the playoffs" mindset that I don't get.
