Time to break the f'ing trend! How many of them were 24?!

Goff was 24. Kap was 25 and his first year starting. Ryan was the only one that was in his 30s. It's just tought to repeat. Dan Marino was 23 and went to the SB his 2nd season. Never made it back.

Goff should have made it this year.
Marino had the misfortune of playing in a league that was nfc heavy.
kap was out of the league.

elway did it btw. And won twice.

Instead of hiring from within, IF the top candidates have decided to pass eg Belichick, Vrabel, etc then it might not be a bad idea to poach someone from Spags unit or Harbaugh's in Baltimore. They would be an upgrade over anyone in our current coaching staff…

Yeah well losing 3 super bowls in 12 years can do that to a fan. lol

Go say that to the 99% of other fan bases who haven't been to one let alone 3 SBs in that time span.

man the complaining. We're over here eating a nice ribeye (bone-in) steak and complaining its not wagyu lol…meanwhile the rest of the league is eating cube steak and spaghettiOs

I don't think any fan base would trade 3 SBs losses for anything. Sheesh. The silver medal enthusiasm is strong with this weak fanbase

My thing is we've been right there and we want our guys to get it done. Now if we irrationally drop Kyle who do we replace him with?

Theres only one Andy Reid and he's in KC. I think it's simple math we ride with Kyle from here on out

Again this is a myth that Kyle leaves and we become instant cellar dwellers. We won't know until we actually do it.

With that said, there is a middle ground. Kyle has his core group and it's obvious he's going to run it back with a different defensive coordinator. So he gets one more opportunity to bring home number 6. Now, one year from now when it's time to extend Brock and in essence the core loses 2 to 3 of its players, and Kyle fails again, then I think you have to consider moving on. You can't keep watching the same movie with a bad ending over and over. The popcorn is getting stale.
I wonder if the Wilks process, is limiting our pool of candidates. Why would any good DC want to come here, if they can't run their scheme? So we probably promote from within, which I recommended a year ago after Ryans left

I would put together a staff of Belichick, Vrabel and on O someone who can dial up the Shanny stuff

Choking in the post season is NOT eating well. The 49ers are invited to the steakhouse and have a seat at the table but they only watching others enjoy the meal. We eat the bread and drink the water only. Kyle forgot his wallet. Again.

My best friend is a Dolphins fan. He is extremely jealous of me getting to see my team win in the playoffs and play in 3 Super Bowls the last 30 years. In that time his team has been to 0 AFC Championship Games.

Different franchise. Different expectations. I can promise you if the Lions had made the SB and had just lost the way we did, they would be celebrating in the streets. It's not the same when you have a franchise that's been irrelevant for a good portion of the last 50 years vs one that has been relevant in that time span. It's why Dallas fans have been crying since 1995. They have been to the playoffs a lot, more than the 49ers since 1995. But they cry constantly bc for them anything short of a SB is failure…

Kyle needs to hire an OC. He doesn't need to leave but he's clearly not capable of doing it by himself.

Weren't we the #1 offense last year?

Yeah I don't agree about him not calling plays at all, but he certainly needs more hands all over to help and someone who can b***h slap him when he drifts with his play calling during gamedays.

He needs an analytics guy. An assistant head coach that whispers in his ear when it comes to game managing. Kyle is a play caller. A glorified OC. He's not good with anything outside of calling plays. You need someone that can fill the void when it comes to clock management, challenges, when to go for it on 4th downs, etc.

Rumor has it the Mike McDaniel could be on the hot seat if the Dolphins fail again. Imagine a coaching staff with Belichick, and McDaniel as the OC

Biggest thing is timing. All the hiring was done while we were deep in the playoffs.

Whiner Talk: He needs an analytical guy!

Also Whiner Talk: He listened to much of he analytics guys re: playoff OT!

This forum is hilarious. "One more chance." LOL. Shanny isn't going anywhere for a while.

There's expectations, but then there's b***hing just to b***h.

The "Super Bowl or bust" concept of being entertained is so stupid. By this logic, in the entire history of the 49ers, there have been 5 good days ever. Five. In 75 years. That's such a cynical way to be a fan.

Obviously winning the SB is the goal, but sometimes I think people just have no idea how to stop and smell the roses. We have it real good right now with Shanahan. Stable franchise, well run front office, excellent culture, and Chiefs aside - who everyone is losing to, mind you - a great product on the field.

Things don't always go your way and you just have to deal with it. Every other non-Chiefs team has to do the same, and vast majority of them are far worse off in the HC department.

I think the logic you employ requires you to be a Jets fan, not one of the faithful.
