I think the whole point is they're finding someone who will run a similar scheme….whether that's internal or external. It's not like SF is the only team that knows this scheme.

If an internal hire gets the defense back to working the way it did under Saleh and DeMeco where the front and back work off of each other, that decision could work out. If we go that route I would hope for Bullocks or Sorensen, both fit the DeMeco/Saleh profile of a young energetic coach.

Why would any DC want to come here? Seriously? Our coordinator positions have led to numerous HC hires in the very recent past. So we fired Wilkes, now no one competent is going to want to come to one of the most talented defenses on a super bowl roster? If I only read posts from people like faithless, I'd think that Kyle was a cattle-prod wielding leper and this team a bottom dwelling clusterf**k of ineptitude.

This team is in a completely different place at this point learning on the job might not be the best plan.
