whats with the ulbrick talk, wouldn't it be a lateral move for him and Jets can block it?

This is what I don't get.

If we can just poach someone's DC, why not go all the way and hire Schwartz? Matter of fact let's go steal Spags! He loves our QB!
The current team would have to allow it,the Browns have done some really stupid s**t but can't imagine they do such a thing.

Browns can't block it if it is a promotion. The assistant HC title would be one…
Assistant HC doesn't count.

Can we add Pool and Spa technician to it, will that work?

Assistant HC is an an honorary title that is given to an experienced assistant but is not recognized by the NFL as a valid promotion.

Has Bill Bellicheat been anounced as the DC yet?

dude isn't coaching this yr, especially as a DC. He's eyeing HC gigs next yr and helping his son out

Mike Vrabel it is.
I guess we have to wait until Monday most likely, that is unless the name of the hire drops tomorrow.
Okay yup. I'm officially concerned. There is zero reason to not have this done by now.

We really fired Wilks three days after the Super Bowl with no solid plan Either we didn't have a replacement in mind (which is ridiculous) or our #1 choice fell through (which means probable downgrade).

I think Kyle thought we would win the SB and that would justify keeping Wilks around. There was no contingency plan even though for good portions of the season it was evident Wilks was not a good fit. Now that we lost to a half assed Kansas City team, Kyle is scrambling to put the pieces together. We lost a good GM to Washington, and a handful of coaches to other teams. Anything outside a big splash proven candidate will look suspect at best. This is just bad news all around….

Be pretty hard to downgrade from WIlks and his soft coverages.

Wilks was gone after the Superbowl no matter the outcome. Kyle and him never meshed and the D never meshed with him either. And the replacement will be from the inside.

If the replacement comes from the inside after all these guys were passed over last year for Wilks that'll be underwhelming to say the least.

And if it's coming from the inside what's the hold up supposedly those interviews have been completed.

I think that because of the time it is taking to hire a DC. Hey I want to be wrong here. But for the love of god I sure don't want Staley.

Honestly I'd take Staley over Wilks and that just might be the case. Not that I'm advocating for it, my guy is Vrabel, but why don't you want Staley? People can look to LAC and how he ran that place, but Staley wouldn't be in charge in SF. So what's to worry??

Be careful I was told that Kyle should take his time to get it right when I stated the same thought,"what the heck is the hold up" it ain`t rocket science!
