Dude has no clue how to scheme anything at all. Cardinals struggle versus the blitz. what do we do rush 4 all game. His middle name has to be vanilla

f**kin Sorensen trouts out the same s**t all the god damn time!!!! Greg Manusuky's defense looked far better than Sorensen's.

Sorensen's patented "Big Trout" d
After seeing the whole quote.. Sorensen doesn't sound safe at all.

To me, Kyle is taking accountability for hiring Sorensen, but it definitely doesn't sound like he's happy with Nick.

He would say something a lot different.

I think they need to bring in a DC that can do more than a straight up wide 9. Whitner was just talking about this a few minutes ago. The DC needs to change it up once in awhile to keep the offense off balance. Make it look like a blitz sometimes and then bring it on others. Go man when needed and use zone against other teams. The league knows what to expect when they see the Niners defense so they can attack it much easier. Whitner said he played on some high school teams that ran a more sophisticated defense than SF. I question that but his point is that they need to make some changes and not just with the players.

Hitner likes to talk crazy sometimes.. i mean the last 3/4 years he had no issues.

but he is also right, we don't have the players right now to do what we did and need to start disguising our D

I think the biggest problem we have with the wide 9 (outside of not having a big enough Nose) is that we pair it up with a lot of quarters/2-high backfield looks. This works great when you have a lead and have a pass rush that gets home, but lacking that it's too easy to run on and all that space puts a lot of pressure on the LBs. With Warner's foot and Dre being out that's really been exposed this year.

He would say something a lot different.

Shanahan has always been low key. He doesn't throw his assistants under the bus but he's also not been super shy about replacing them either. He'll continue to praise Sorenson right up to the day he gets canned and then thank and praise him even as he brings in Ulbrich or brings back Saleh.

According to Maiocco right now on KNBR he thinks Kyle likes Sorensen and he's running the defense that Kyle wants and isn't looking for a change.

So Kyle's buddy seems to be safe and we will continue our bottom 3rd defense for next season.

I wouldn't rely on anyone saying they think..

and with healthy players we won't be near the bottom no matter who is DC

If Maiocco is wrong he loses all credibility with me.

he doesn't have the insider info like he used to. it's pretty much just a guess on Kyles word play

We all know Kyle and John are not going to bash anyone that is currently on the team

Just have to wait until our season ends

If you hear the interview he seems confident in Sorensen and there was a 'difference' with philosophy with Wilks, even though Wilks had a better D and the players respected him.
Sorenson was strange pick and really hasn't done anything to create difficulty for opponents however this is by far the least talented D this team has fielded in the last five seasons. Not sure anyone could get this rag tag group to where the D needs to be.

I disagree. With being dead last in the league in 3rd downs and blowing so many games in the 4th im putting that on coaching.

Coaching matters ! Remember when we were pissed about Romans play calling? If that could now be our only issue, instead we have idiots in charge of D, and ST and Kyle is shell shocked

+1. If he's available, that would be a great hire!
