So unless there is an obvious upgrade, year two would be the pivotal growth period for Sorenson where you see him start to get his feet in this job. Demeco and Salah also had growing pains.

Yeah, but what happened to that win now window then? Him hiring Sorensen contradicted this from day one. And if he doesn't show pivotal growth next year its a wash as well etc.

Part of my pessimism is Saleh and Ryans ended up fantastic. What are the odds of hitting again like that? Wilks was for sure a miss and Sorenson doesn't give me the same vibes Saleh and Ryans did.

I feel the same way. But I'm getting use to knowing that Sorensen will be coming back next season. If there ever was a time to upgrade at DC it would be this upcoming off season.

It won't bother me if they bring in another DC but we need to realize that Sorenson didn't have all his best players out there. Huf and Greenlaw were out all year and we saw what a difference they make when they're in there. Losing Hargrave didn't help either. No matter wht you think about him he was one of their better interior lineman. It made the depth chart thinner when they had tomove a backup into the starter roll. Bosa has been hurt the last few games Ward had his family issues and missed some games. No way of knowingfor sure but I suspect the defe3nse would have looked a lot better if it had been whole.

You are not supposed to tell the truth.

Just say everyone needs to be fired regardless of the circumstances.
Does Sorensen have any energy at all? I feel like I never see him hyped on the sideline. That's not really the vibe here with our guys and I'd like our DC to match that.

Hard to be hyped I guess when we're always choking key situations though. Of course we look fine in the boring times

You mean that kill em all and sort em mentality.
Kyle obviously wanted a bro who he can copy the same cool hairdo and color and scraggly beard. As the season progressed, they almost looked like twins. In any case, I can't see Kyle removing him but I definitely would get someone else.

i think a mistake is they keep chasing what worked 4-5 years ago. the league evolves. look at minnesota, they hired Flores, it was one of the great hires. he's bringing blitz from all over. they win on D with scheme. now i watched Allen give Brady some trouble in that division. he would be unpoachable. i like Saleh as a man, but it would be a let's just do our old stuff kind of hire.

+1
He is going to be back because Bosa likes him even is Jim Schwartz is available
It hurt having to wait till after the Super Bowl to hire a new DC. We were kind of left with the leftovers. I remember not being overly thrilled with any of the rumored candidates. I feel like this is the offseason to kind of retool the coaching staff since we will be able to hire right away. New DC. I'd love it if we could find someone that isn't afraid to blitz more. I don't have a problem with the overall scheme but it only works if we're getting consistent pressure on the QB. Creative blitzes on 3rd and 7?? What an idea!
