I think he chose Sorensen because he was going to run the defense exactly like Saleh and Ryan.

That's why Wilks and Shanahan didn't see eye to eye because Wilks wanted to do more of his own thing and Shanahan wanted Wilks to just run the defense like it always had been run.

It's why Ulbrich will probably be DC next season because it's who Kyle wanted last offseason and Ulbrich will run the defense exactly like Saleh and Ryan.

Personally I think they need to move on from the scheme completely as the league has adjusted to it and it just requires too much talent to run at a high level. The defense is starting look exactly like the Seahawks' defense under Carroll his last few seasons with it being mediocre year in and year out.

So Kyle fires the guy who had one of the best secondaries going last year and a top 10 defense for Sorensen. Great Idea. Of course most of the Webzone wanted him fired anyway

The Webzone wants someone fired every week. Joe, Steve, Jerry, and Bill would be fired if it was up to the Webzone.

Sorensen and our ST coaches are bad though. If we want to improve we need better. Coming off the bye and their lack of preparation is on the coaches. More than any other unit the D and ST cost us the season.

I'd actually put the offense as more of culprit than the defense this season. So many games the offense could not add points and the defense just finally broke at the end. The defense needs some help, whether its at LB depth, safety or edge opposite Bosa, but the offense has a more thoroughly broken unit (OL) and more under performance by its skill players this year.

Though I agree that the offense should've been better and built on leads it doesn't change the fact the defense had leads in the 4th quarter in 3 games that they blew.

Games like the Vikings and 2nd Rams game where we desperately needed a stop late to give the offense a reasonable chance to gain the lead they completely failed.

A couple of near misses with the Cowboys and Buccaneers games.

The defense just has been unforgivably awful in the 4th quarter and I'm not giving the offense a pass for their garbage 4th quarters but I just think the defense has been a little worse than the offense.

He did a good job considering the talent he had to work with. Defense had some stinkers but overall played solid until they just got worn out due to offense's ineffectiveness.

He starts the game good, then as the game goes on, it gets worst, especially in the 4th. 15 games of it now, its not getting better or improving. I expect him to get fired.

Bosa hurt. DTs good/not good enough. Greenlaw made all our DCs look good. When he's out of the game, there's a HUUUGE drop off.

Having said that, IDGAF, just leave Sorensen in Arizona next week after the Tards slap us around while Kyle Murray runs for 149 yards

So much of this every damn week no matter who we played. I'm over it for sure, fire the guy & move on!

He will be back just like the majority of the OL.
