He won a SB in Philly and had a Top 10 defense a year ago. He's exactly the kind of sturdy veteran DC they could use, someone that could be around for several years at least.
Fire this ass hat
Ulbrich is going to be the guy.

Kyle wanted him last year when he was with the Jets and Ulbrich wanted to go but was blocked.

I can't imagine anything has changed for Kyle from last year as Sorsenen has done nothing to prove he should retain his job and Ulbrich will be free to go where he wants once the season wraps up.

It's not my pick because I'm in the camp of scrapping the scheme for a new one as all you have to look at is the last years of Carroll's Seahawks to see this scheme ends up in mediocrity unless it's filled with lots of elite talent not to mention NFL offenses have seen it for years now and are well adjusted into beating it.
Who can you name on the Cardinals D besides Budda Baker? A good scheme can overcome talent. Sorensen ain't it.

To me shorts isn't a DC who i see is great even with that 2017 SB win. I don't hear how great that defense was when they ever mention that game/season.

Plus, the biggest red flag for me is even with a slight improvement, he's gone for a HC job after a year if offered.. and there's always offers if he does make our defense good again.

Do the right thing Kyle and beg Saleh to come back.

Eberflus, Ulbrich and Gym Shorts. But I don't think Cleveland is letting Shorts go.

If Gym Shorts is available they should do everything possible to bring him in. If he signed a standard two year contract in 2023 then that means he'd be up in a week or so. Gym Shorts has always done well against Kyle's offenses so having that guy in the building, not only scheming against opposing offenses but also helping with self-scouting and analysis would be such a huge boost.

All of this!

Need that Vet presence. We were fortunate to hit on a couple of unknowns in Saleh and Ryan's but our luck seems to have run out with Sorensen.
Hope to see good news tomorrow

It doesn't seem like Saleh wants to come back. I think he was last seen cozying up with LeFleur
i think i had read that schwartz was in his last year of his deal. I could be wrong tho.

Unfortunately I think you're right. I don't believe that Ulbrich is a particularly inspired choice either but I see the logic.

you are probably right

i have been underwhelmed by him though. The Jets D fell apart after he got the keys when Saleh got fired.

Hard to disagree with you. I'm hoping for Saleh or Schwartz.
I'm just hoping Sorensen gets fired. I ain't celebrating until he actually is.
