ulbrich learned a little bit under kyle's favorite DC of all time: raheem moriss

ulbrich learned some DC stuff with robert saleh jets woohoo

That's the reason people like him?

i have zero clue about him but his resume is alright from learning and developing under dan quinn, pete carroll, raheem morris, robert saleh.

maybe he could be nick sorensons replacement but idk if kyle would actually fire nick based on recent interviews

People throwing names out of desperation. Kyle is totally bringing Sorensen back.

I like Ulbrich but they should really open up the search and interview multiple guys

I don't think Ulbrich gets a DC role this off-season. We should hire him as a ILBs coach / Sr. Assistant. Holland can move to OLBs. Its a similar setup when Ryans was a positional coach on our staff.

And we can target someone like Dennis Allen or Jim Schwartz for DC. Kyle needs his Spags-like DC.

Agreed they are just hard to find. I think we can all stop talking about Schwartz. He's not leaving Cleveland. I really don't remember much about Dennis Allen coached defenses

I do get the feeling that they aren't going to fire Sorenson.

Nothing I've read or heard about Ulbrich indicates that he's anything more than a very vanilla playcaller that is particularly dependent on the talent he has to work with. I don't think he's a bad DC necessarily, just not someone that will maximize the talent that he has to work with.

This is what we need. Somebody who can do what Aaron Glenn did last night with not much talent on defense Are their any canidate's that you believe can do this.

And how much s**t talking are you dealing with from Cards fans. I'm 46 and i have never ever met a cardinals fans
i dont know what to think of ulbrich. i dont think he's a big upgrade over a learning/experienced nick sorenson. maybe if it was last offseason...one offseason too late.

Iron sharpens iron

we have been lacking a DC that makes Kyle adjust his offensive playcalling schemes .. we have played aggressive 4 man D Line with prevent coverage most of last 6 years here .. way to beat that is have QB hold ball longer and exploit holes in coverage and not encourage the QB to "throw the receivers open"

in the superbowl or conf finals, we just can't figure out aggressive man blitz D because we rarely practice against that ! Look what Shannahan always struggles against .. Flores D, Schwartz D, spagnulo D

time for him to go outside his comfort zone and get talented D coordinator .. also infuse new offensive concepts !
we need a DC like steve wilks but not actually steve wilks

a really old experienced talented career DC or interim HC nobody wants to hire as actual HC

kind of like a norv turner version of defensive coordinator

I would like to see some changes on defense but I don't knw exactly what he can do to the offense. That style is working for a lot of teams in the legue including the Lions. The issue this season was to many pieces were missing. What new offensvie concept would you like to see? I talkng about a real concept not just a play call here and there.
Somewhere, Steve Wilks is smoking a cigar and laughing is ass off.
I'm out on Sorensen, there's a bunch of better candidates imo. I doubt Kyle lets go of a DC two yrs in a row though.

Well if Kyle wants to be fired next year, he'll keep him.

Im not so sure. He isnt a DC anywhere. Or even under contract as an advisor. He was blessed with great health, unlike this year's team. Given the injuries we had, I can't see the defense being that much better. This isn't an endorsement of Sorenson. Just saying their situations are different.
