Ulbrich was thrown into the fire, it just shows he's not ready to be a HC yet. Most interim coaches don't do well. I wouldn't worry about those stats. It's not like Ulbrich wasn't calling plays while he was the DC.

Mayo has never been a playcaller at any level. So replace a first year defensive coordinator with another first year defensive coordinator and one that comes out of a completely different defensive scheme?

He did screw up. Not a play to remember. Also, Huf needs to make that stop but didn't come close. Doesn't help he's still playing with a cast but we've seen too many times IMO him not making such plays/missing tackles, etc.

W9 isn't a defense it's an alignment that most teams use throughout a game. Our DL got destroyed with all kinds of different alignments/fronts.

Why? Mayo has only ever been a position coach and then HC this year. He's never been an actual DC or called a defense before.

I get it, and I'm not going to declare Ulbrich as an amazing hire, but it's worth noting that Ulbrich was DC before Saleh was fired and then had to take over as interim HC with more responsibilities and that's when it all fell apart even harder. That could be more of an argument that he should just stay a DC if anything.

I don't follow the Jets at all. If Ulbrich ran the defense what did Saleh provide that team?

I know we have an OC here but KS runs the offense

It makes me a little nervous that only our special teams coach was fired yesterday. Why not fire Sorensen yesterday as well
