Yeah, the longer this goes the more worried I am about Sorensen getting another chance. If it were a year where there were a lack of options I might understand that approach, but there are guy out there like Saleh, Ulbrich, Gus Bradley, and Lou Anarumo any of which would be pretty substantial upgrades in my opinion. I think the team needs to take advantage of that and get someone solid in here hopefully for the long haul.

Saleh's first year with the Niners wasn't good either. I would like to see some changes to the style of defense the Niners use. Wide 9 seems outdated.

It's not outdated but we haven't had the personnel to run it effectively the last 2 years. For whatever reason they are going with smaller pass rushing type of DT's over run stuffers with some pass rush ability. Our IDL simply sucks ass versus the run. All of them are bad We need to find a Jalen Carter ASAP.

Saleh's first year the team was still in rebuild mode. Sure the had Armstead and Buckner but they needed more than just them.

True. Saleh started slow but as he got better players the defense and his pay calling improved.
Shanny has his patsy in Schnieder, expect him to run it back with Sorenson next year. And when we start out 2-5 having lost because the D can't get turnovers or get off The field on third down the writing will be on the wall for Shanalynch and we will be back at rebuilding. If we had gotten better at all down the stretch I'd be ok with that but the D got worse in every metric as the season progressed. We need a real defensive mind who has cached champions and has a plan for when players go down.

Not to mention the defense went through a transition phase. With Sorensen the defense didn't have to go through that, it was basically the same defense from Robert Saleh to DeMeco Ryans.

We're in that position now on the D line except that Bosa is the only real impact guy.

Then there are issues with starters and depth at all levels of the defense.
He has to go. Plain and simple. Other DC's weren't great in the beginning but this guy has been atrocious. Play calling and adjustments are horrible and the WORTH 4th quarter D in the league. Unacceptable. Even Wilks was #1 in the NFL in 4th quarter scoring.

Enough is enough. I've had it with these mutha f**king snakes on this mutha f**king plane!!!!!

I don't follow the Jets at all. If Ulbrich ran the defense what did Saleh provide that team?

I know we have an OC here but KS runs the offense

Ummm KS is the OC

oops I got that wrong

figured they gave the title to kubiak but he is just offensive passing game specialist
He's not going anywhere and we can expect similar results next year.
I think Soreinbutt should go, but it wasn't all his fault. First it's hard to judge someone off of one season. I remember many wanting Robert Salad gone after one year. Then he took an offseason and the defense started to gel. The same can happen with Nick. Plus....the injuries were terrible. The offense wasn't nearly as dominant and that put stress on the D. I don't think he was a good schemer or play caller. He was against weaker opponents. There were weeks the D was very good like Chicago. All in all, in ok with whatever decision they make.
Saleh interviewing with Jags for HC. I doubt he gets it. We need to wait for that. So much for wanted to be close to Michigan.
