Right now there's a lot of veteran DC's to choose from. In the end we could always revert back to Jeff Ulbrich or try to go all in and ask Jim Schwartz if he wants the job.

Sorensen has no experience as a DC. Yet Shanahan, hired him. Steve Wilks was not Xs and Os DC. He was more successful as Secondary coach. He inherited the Panthers defense for McDermott for one season. He only had a couple of other single season DC stints, of which one was in college. He is not even a DC now, just a volunteer assistant at a college. Not a good resume to be hired by a Superbowl contending team. Demeco and Saleh did not have any DC experience when Shanahan made them DC. We need a good DC with experienced play calling who can also fire up the players. Sorensen does not fit the bill. Personality-wise he seems really laid back and easy going.

There's multiple experienced DCs available if Sorensen stays it's sad, Sorensen wouldn't be a candidate for any other team in this league or any other league.

Saleh never looked that bad early on to me. Our roster was horrific and while his play calls weren't perfect year one, for the most part our guys actually played a little better than expected even with vastly inferior talent.

Total opposite with Sorensen. Team massively under achieved.

I'll never I understand the mentality of not trying someone new because they could end up being worse.

How about Antonio Pierce. Seems like players responded to his coaching style. I know the defense gave 💯 for him. The overall team talent just wasn't there.

that 2017 defense played a lot harder than the worst defense the 49ers had in 8 years. Granted our stars were injured and missed a lot of games
