Its more about man management and vibe.

And Saleh fits both the criteria.

He'll get a HC gig before a DC with us. I'd love to be wrong and eat crow tho

Saleh isn't coming back to SF, he's stated that he wants to stay near his family in SF.

Wouldn't that be a good reason for him to come back? Unless you meant to type something else.

Sorry Michigan.

my daughter hit me in the mouth with her iPad at the time, f**ked me up!!

Didn't he just interview for the Jags? I doubt he's seriously thinking that now.

Yeah a lot of people were arguing Saleh wouldn't come back because he wants to be close to family but that interview with the Jags pretty much rules that logic out.

Ulbrich honestly might not be that bad of a hire. Jets' defense was top 4 in yards allowed each of the last three seasons.

I think Saleh had something to do with that

Maybe, maybe not.

My point is this board can't gush over Saleh/Schwartz but trash Ulbrich when he was literally the DC of a top 4 defense for multiple seasons.

The jets defense fell apart when he was promoted after saleh left

Marquand Manuel was the DC when Ulbrich was promoted.

Also a point I've been trying to make.

Look, I don't even know if Ulbrich would be my first choice. But I perfectly understand the logic behind it and that his track record is actually pretty good. I'll at least take him 10 times over Brandon Staley who seems to ruin everything he touches.

The Jets D didn't fall apart after Saleh was fired because Ulbrich was a bad DC. It fell apart because Ulbrich was overwhelmed with running the D and being thrust into a HC role that he was not prepared for.

This. They wanted him last year and imo he would jump at the chance to coach here, being a former player for the niners. I would hire Ulbrich or Lou from Cinn.

Agreed. Brick, Lou, and Allen are my top 3 candidates.

I have no interest in Bradley and I don't think Saleh wants to come back.
Thank God. All you idiots talking about let's keep him just b/c Saleh had a rough 1st year can now be quiet.
I'm a hard pass on dude from the Bengals.

I think interviewing for a HC job is a lot different than going back to being a DC. There's no reason for him to go all the way across the country to be a defensive coordinator, HC you go where you can get a gig. If the 49ers fired Kyle and invited Saleh to interview for HC, I'm quite certain he accepts that invitation.

Lou might not be the best candidate however he does know how to handle Patrick Mahomes

Of course if it's to be a HC again he'll hold off on that, but if it's to be a DC of course he'll want to choose where he goes.

Lou has also beaten Josh Allen in the postseason.

Lou has been stuck with mediocre talent in Cincinnati and a team that's whole philosophy is based around the QB.

I've noticed his secondary always gets a lot of turnovers, no matter who he has back there. They play the pass well and he calls pretty good blitzes.
