Let's hope not. Bobby Wagner can't run anymore and is a total liability in coverage. He's literally the guy Shanny attacks when he plays against him.

Yep, those guys had to lean on hard work and technique. They couldn't loaf because they lacked a certain amount of athleticism. Hence, they understand what a player must know to succeed.
The list is long of great players who turned out to be bad coaches, Bill Russell is still the poster boy for a great player that was a terrible coach. Pete Rose is another. Old history, I know, but those guys set the bar.

Yup and people act like all players will be healthy all season. Doesn't hurt to have a guy that can fill in and knows the defense well.

really excited about Sorenson, I think he's gonna be very good. I hope fans have patience though, it might take him a minute to get his footing, just like Saleh and Ryans. I have a good feeling about him

True, most coaches control the coaching staff and give permission. I do remember something about Trent Baalke hiring the staff for Tomsula

Not really. It's a temporary fix. Definitely an upgrade over Burks. And cheaper than Azeez. I prefer a more permanent solution like Azeez bc it gives us leeway with Dre if he doesn't come back to form, but if the expectation is to stick with Dre no matter what, then a one year deal for Wagner is not the worst idea in the world…
