This. Wagner is cooked physically and is a liability in coverage. QBs had nearly a 120 passer rating against him. It's not 1987 anymore, dude needs to retire.

Azeez is the better option and maybe Winters or Graham as the 3rd LB. The problem is Azeez had a good year and maybe too expensive.

He did and will go for a lot more than we can spend. I think our only option is the draft and that's speculative at best.

Agree. I'd give the kids a chance, liked both Winters and Graham selections
I know I might be in the minority but I'm very optimistic about Sorensen.

Keep that positivity to yourself... jerk.

There will be a learning curve but I trust Kyle and won't let what happened last year happen again.

I am as well. I like that he was an ultra try hard as a player, went undrafted and still made a decade long career for himself as a special teams standout based on pure effort, balls and football IQ.

I like that he got coaching experience on both defense and special teams in Seattle and that he has the unique perspective of having been a special teams coordinator, even on that disastrous Urban Meyer staff.

He was also with the 49ers under DeMeco and Wilks and got to see what works and what doesn't. He'll also have help from Staley, Kocurek and the rest of an experienced defensive staff.

KJ Wright going to get Bobby Wagner here for a season I think.

Not a bad idea. Wagner could hold fort until Dre comes back. Unless we go for Aziz. He should be option 1…

Horrible idea

Not really. It's a temporary fix. Definitely an upgrade over Burks. And cheaper than Azeez. I prefer a more permanent solution like Azeez bc it gives us leeway with Dre if he doesn't come back to form, but if the expectation is to stick with Dre no matter what, then a one year deal for Wagner is not the worst idea in the world…

Dude is washed up. It's not a temporary fix. It's creating another problem.

I like Sorensen going in and learning the position. I am just glad we have Staley to give him pointers and guidance.

If we could get azeez on an affordable deal, which I doubt we can, he's the obvious answer no doubt. But I like Graham a lot and think he's going to impress. Extremely talented and will be going into his second year - hope he makes a big leap.

I'm optimistic about him too. I also don't think we had much of a choice because Kyle insists on keeping the system - for better or worse. You kinda need to go in-house.

i think he will do a better job of aligning the d line and secondary though. Than wilks did. I also like the type of coaches he comes from. Having Staley should help with some of the growing pains.

Good post!

I like player coaches that had significant careers with out being ultra talented and relied heavily on knowing the game.
