This. Wagner is cooked physically and is a liability in coverage. QBs had nearly a 120 passer rating against him. It's not 1987 anymore, dude needs to retire.

KJ Wright going to get Bobby Wagner here for a season I think.
Not a bad idea. Wagner could hold fort until Dre comes back. Unless we go for Aziz. He should be option 1…
Horrible idea
Not really. It's a temporary fix. Definitely an upgrade over Burks. And cheaper than Azeez. I prefer a more permanent solution like Azeez bc it gives us leeway with Dre if he doesn't come back to form, but if the expectation is to stick with Dre no matter what, then a one year deal for Wagner is not the worst idea in the world…

Agree. I'd give the kids a chance, liked both Winters and Graham selections

I am as well. I like that he was an ultra try hard as a player, went undrafted and still made a decade long career for himself as a special teams standout based on pure effort, balls and football IQ.
I like that he got coaching experience on both defense and special teams in Seattle and that he has the unique perspective of having been a special teams coordinator, even on that disastrous Urban Meyer staff.
He was also with the 49ers under DeMeco and Wilks and got to see what works and what doesn't. He'll also have help from Staley, Kocurek and the rest of an experienced defensive staff.
