Cut Campbell and add two new VETERAN Safeties whether its via free agency or trade. I really can't stand Sorensen and the defense. Use to be a strength and now its such a huge liability.

They always had that sideline to sideline speed from their linebackers. Now it's like their handicapped with Campbell having no sideline to sideline speed. It honestly forces the safeties and Warner to have to cover more ground because of his limitations.

Even if Sorensen grows/improves which obviously we all want, the d line is soft and our safeties suck. It's hard to get around that combo. A healthy Greenlaw is must.

Watts is faster, more nimble, and less predictable. Boss is stiff, bull rush to the outside is his only trick. Teams just shove him outside and step forward to get time to pass. No other DL is a threat.

Bosa might be more stiff than TJ Watt but hes certainly not a stiff by DE standards. And bullrushing to the outside is not his ONLY trick.

Please show me more tricks.
I'm trying not to panic about anything right now. This defense is bad. Sure they make splash plays here and there, but overall they give up a lot of yards. I'm holding out hope that when Greenlaw and CMC come back the team will naturally get better. CMC will help keep drives going and hopefully close out with TDs in the red zone. And let's be honest even a 50% greenlaw will help the D tremendously. His intelligence in the middle of the field will be a great improvement even if he's not at full strength yet.

They can stabilize the defense this season but the scheme itself has got to be scrapped this offseason because this scheme is past it's expiration date. Needs too much talent on every level and offenses have adjusted to it.

Wilks wasn't the right hire but Shanahan almost had the right idea in bringing in someone from the outside to let them bring some fresh ideas to a stale scheme. The problem was Shanahan wanted Wilks to conform to that stale scheme and because that didn't work he went back to his comfort zone and has Sorensen turning back the clock to run the scheme like it was a couple of years ago.

Wild guess but usually when I player says this but won't say, is because they don't want to thrown out a coaches name.

Do the players respect Sorensen and do they think he's over his head? We also have Staley, but I don't think anyone is a huge fan of his.

This isn't good.

Correct.
Well that kinda speaks volumes right there. He won't say but we can say it, this guy is a joke. Go open a surfboard shop in SoCal lol we need a real DC. Dude sucks. Why do we keep hiring ppl that can't do much at all? Ridiculous lol

lol. I love these types of quotes. Could mean anything and it is fun to guess especially when the team isn't doing well. Everyone loves to blame others.

Honestly, I'm tried of there 49ers players blaming anyone but themselves. I get coaches matter but this is the second year in a row that it seems defensive players are taking shots at the coaches.

Kyle may have to do what John Harbaugh and other head coaches have done and relieve the coordinator mid season. It's not pretty, but if we lose to the Seahawks and go O for against our division, then a change must be made. Kyle and John need to have meetings with the defensive leaders and figure this out. The talent and $$ on that side of the ball isn't panning out. And the plays that have been made so far have been individual effort, not scheme or preparation.

Well he better say to someone with authority inside the building then or if it's player related, deal with it. If they care enough about winning, this is the time to use your voice before it's too late.

I definitely don't think Sorensen is calling games all that well. Our guys don't look super prepared. But what's the most frustrating is our total lack of fundamentals. It felt like me missed over a dozen tackles yesterday. It was insane.

I don't remember anyone taking shots at Wilks, i thought they respected him especially the DBs. His philosophy didn't match the D and players Kyle and John assembled, and he probably privately clashed with Kyle.

The offense scored 16 points yesterday against one of the worse defenses in football. Right now I don't see this a DC problem. Clearly the team doesn't have the defensive players in key positions -- line, linebackers, and safety -- so I would be much more concerned with the DC if the team had the horses but wasn't producing. Right now I think that's more the case on offense. There is no reason why the 49ers should have been shut out on offense in the second half. That's nuts. Kyle needs to do some soul searching
