The 49ers' +23 turnover differential over the past two seasons — Nick Sorensen's time as "The Ballfather" — has led the NFL.

Not insignificant. SF likes to notice and reward good work. They had previously really struggled in the turnover margin department

Holy **** what a clown franchise. We needed that Super Bowl win badly. The Chiefs single-handedly turned us into a permanent laughing stock.
This has to be sarcasm
Seriously, do you know how many fanbases would kill for our sucky team?

Exactly. I think adding a good veteran defensive coach mind with play calling experience to go along with Nick is possibly a really good strategy.
Hope it works out.
Added plus is this gets Staley more exposure to our system and some different ideas on what we can do with it.
NYNiner, where do you see this reported?
If I recall, it might have been Ryan Hensley on twitter saying he heard from someone inside the building this was the case. There may have been one other person corroborating but it had been pretty hush hush from everywhere else.
who the hell is Ryan Hensley? I looked up his twitter profile and he's just some dude. Anyone one of us can put "NFL Analyst" in our twitter profile.
edit: this guy?

Again folks, the title is totally different. He's Kyle's assistant.
Every coach on the staff is Kyle's assistant. Lynn was AHC but really he was just a glorified RB coach. He left with Bobby Turner back full time. Staley is AHC because he's previously been a HC and those are the people that usually get that title. On the overall hierarchy it still falls below both offensive and defensive coordinator usually.

Neck Sorenson
Also, pretty funny this tweet now. It came down to we had to have both.

"It sounds like is that the #49ers could be narrowing in on an internal candidate. [Defensive passing game coordinator] Nick Sorenson definitely is a guy that fits that mold... But Brandon Staley is a name that keeps being mentioned. It feels like it's down to those two."…

Never mind, wasn't him. I searched his post and nothing there. For the life of me can't remember who said it.

This isn't really any different than when we brought in James Bettcher as Senior assistant for Ryan's first year.

Uninspired by these hirings but, it is what it is. Now with Sorenson already being on the defense and seeing the lack of pass rush and poor run defense, I'm curious to see what he's gonna do different?

With that neck he certainly can see the game from the sidelines so no worry about him being up in the booth.
