Honestly not a bad signing.

He gets a lot of QB hits.

It's a very good signing on paper. Kinda surprised he wasn't talked about more as a possibility tbh. I get he's not a splash like Mack/Hunter but he's not too far behind them if you go by numbers instead of flashy headlines.

I like the signing. However, he is a long way from Mack/Hunter in PR ratings.
Mack - 86
Hunter - 79
Young - 74
Floyd - 64

Let's hope Kocurek can pump him up.

Yeah it's not even close to signing Mack/hunter/Bosa. Honestly I think I'd rather have young.

whatever.

I've grown up mostly outside of SF.....

That's all people say, unfortunately.

That and the word that rhymes with a famous network router.....

Boy he's such a homer

That's your takeaway? He pretty much backs up his commentary with straight facts.

Also rhymes with the artist responsible for the world renowned 'Thong Song'

He doesn't take into account the situations of both players. Burns has had to switch back from a DE to OLB and actually plays all 3 downs. No single person is taking Floyd over Burns

dude cherry picks stats to fit his homerism

He's a massive homer, but that particular post was tongue in cheek

To me David is usually trying to convey the team's thinking behind a move. I also think he's much more credible than Grant Cohn. Just because Grant is negative 90% of the time doesn't mean he's credible. I trust guys who are balanced in their reporting, where they can be be critical when necessary and balance it out by being positive when appropriate. I think David usually walks that line pretty well. Whether you like this move or not 10 million per is hardly with a over the top reaction either way. When you combine the players skill with the cost it's a decent signing. Judging an off-season on day one in my opinion is insufficient. Let's take a breath and see what the roster looks like in May going into OTA's.

I think his point was that it is similar production, but your also playing 20 million less per year. In a lot of ways it's smart business, especially when you have to pay Brandon and Brock at some point.

Yea, but the emoji and the checkmate line gives the game away. He knows Burns is viewed as a much better and more desirable player, aside from value per dollar. Burns is also entering his prime.
