Please let this not be our big DE signing. He doesn't move the needle at all. He's a 3rd down guy only.

A 3rd down guy with the same physical profile and production of Dee Ford? He's more than a 3rd down guy.

Hes a pass rush specialist. There is a reason he has kind of bounced around the last few years.

That's fine by me. Getting to 3rd down hasn't been an issue, getting off the field on 3rd down has at times been a big issue.
Watch the Lions sign Danielle Hunter
Just so you guys realized Samson Ebukam played 52% of snaps for us in 2022. Floyd played 54% for the Bills. He played 577 snaps last year. That would have been 7th most for us. He'll be on the field plenty.
I've never really been a fan, but I guess I am now lol

Bro don't even waste your time on the negative nelly's. Niners just got a good pass rusher

If we were told that our big free agency signing this offseason would be a samson Ebukam replacement, That's abit disappointing to say the least.
We'll now have 2 fast edge guys in the same mold in Lloyd and Beal Jr. On the other side we have Bosa and Jackson. Assuming Jackson's able to maintain his weight.

They did but when media people are speculating about the 49ers being able to make a big signing in FA and the first thing we hear is AA is getting released and then the first signing is a B/C level player. People can be underwhelmed
Honestly this wasn't even a guy on my radar this year. But can't get mad at $10 mil a year, with the production he's had. Brian Burns wanting more than twice that amount, with similar numbers. At that price, maybe we can afford to keep Chase Young on a similar deal and have a good rotation. Someone like Khalil Mack seems less likely now, but I can still hope.
Always defensive line with this team. It's all they do. When will they sign offensive line?

Underrated player.
I think this was a good move. While everyone else was trying to throw huge money at Hunter or trade for a high priced Chargers pass rusher. We snagged a solid next tier down guy for a good price. 10 mil for that production in today's NFL seems pretty damn good to me. If he can give us 10 sacks next year that is a pretty significant upgrade. Time will tell but not a big risk at 10 mil a year.
