you'd think people would get it after we go over it every single free agency

You'd have a better point if we weren't comparing 2 year deals. These are all 2 year deals where the structure isn't going to vary all that much.

What? I bet they all almost have an out after 1 year. Lol

Hunter for $48 of his $51M GTD. Show me how much GTD cash all those guys got combined. That's what matters….stop looking at what if numbers and dividing them by the years. That's not how it works

Why is guareenteed money so huge on a 2 yr deal? You're not stuck with it long term. 2 years is an awesome contract to do with guarantees.

"Floyd, 31, joins the 49ers on a two-year, $20 million deal that can be worth up to $24 million with $12 million in guaranteed money over the first year of the contract."

So Floyd does reasonably well and we keep him for 2 years and pay him 24 mil. The gap with hunter is not that huge now. Elliot, Odum, and Gross-Matos are still going to make decent money given their amount, even if it's backloaded. And if we cut these guys after 1 year, there will be some amount of dead cap.

Yes it is, the gap would be 24 million. Lol and that would be with Floyd playing well. If he plays well his production will be close to Hunter.

Well we're likely planning on dishing out a premier WR/QB contract within that two year window for one.

a 20+ million dollar gap in guaranteed money is pretty substantial.

All this is based on Kris Kocurek working his magic on these type of DL.

Didn't work last year. Unless wilks was hampering him
I don't see a problem with Elliott...he's started the last 2 years with the Browns, known for their DL. He's good vs the run...AA wasn't so much any more. He's 26. Depending on who else they sign for depth, they'll still have Kalia Davis + in the DT rotation.

Bingo.

Example: Elliot 5mil/yr, Odom 5 mil, Gross-Matos 9 mil.
19 mil there where you could actually get a stud

That would be a hell of a stud, that can play DT, Safety, and Edge!

Wouldnt have to. You fill in those backup and rotational roles with draft picks who make 1 mil a year

We sometimes spend too much time trying to figure out how they are able to sign certain players. I let the front office worry about that. That's their job.

As of right now, the Floyd signing seems like a very good one. He produces similar pressure on the QB but he comes a bit cheaper than the premium guys. Hard to argue with that.

Obviously Hunter would be better but you gotta start making some decisions somewhere. You can't always go out and get the most expensive guy on the market. And even if you do, it's not a guarantee. I mean Hargrave didn't deliver on the field what the 49ers paid him for last year.

He has a low pff grade but i saw somewhere he was the 6th best IDL in win rate vs rush or something like that.

You're absolutely correct about that as I am guilty of always looking at the numbers and trying to figure it out.
