I don't know what to make of the two defensive tackle signings tbh. They, including Collins, seem like rotational players more than anything. That's not necessarily a bad thing either. That DE they signed from CAR can also slide inside so at least we're plugging some holes.

Draft Not sure how many times folks gotta tell ya that
I know several of you are saying draft and to a point I agree, but how has that really worked out for us the last few years. Mckivitz mah, Burford straight trash, Banks ok but still up and down, and the rest cannot break a starting line up with only one really good linemen. Every year they address the dline when the secondary and o-line have remained a weakness.

Part of the reason Banks is ok is that he was a higher round investment. We at least have a 1st and a 2nd round pick so the odds of landing a quality player, should one be available, is higher.

I dont even think Banks is OK.
Take in account how high he was drafted, considered a reach, that he was redshirted for a year, and plays next to Trent and second best lineman (Brendel, imo) I think the returns are underwhelming. We saw Feliciano at LG and it didn't look that different altogether.

Hopefully this is the case.
My only 'concern' is that these boys may not get a real shot to start until next year given the complexity of the system. Or the time to rework their bodies for all the movement within the system.
In short, we might not be "fixing" anything this year. But next year, if their evaluations are good, could have a young, talented and cheaper OL just in time for Brock's contract.

Meh, you could do worse than rolling out a tier 2 offensive line… hopefully with some growth of our own young guys.

Imagine we trade up for a tackle... only to redshirt him cause Kyle hates rookies lol

To be fair, besides Banks we've used fairly low draft capital on O line. Burford, McKivitz, and Moore were pick 134, 153, and 155. I'm sure we were hoping to hit on at least one and get a bonafide starter, but the expectations were depth pieces. I'm not a huge McKivitz fan, but we nearly won a superbowl with him at RT. This year its quite likely we spend a top 65 pick on the OL, with expectations of returning a starter like we've done with Banks.
And remember we did get some free agents last year. Feliciano was signed March 21, fairly late in the window. I'm sure theres guys we are monitoring now like Greg Van Roten. I'm particularly interested in Connor Williams. Tore his ACL in December, so maybe he could be had on a 1 yr deal. Probably looking for the right fit. Dolphins signed a center so they are likely moving on, but he played great under McDaniels scheme. Could be a steal for us.

It's certainly not a terrible line. Perhaps with a bit more growth and consistency and Brock playing at an MVP level, it'll be enough. Nothing wrong with entertaining the possibility, at least.

Roten, sounds perfect for our OL. Ha.

He rushes the passer well. His tape says that and so do his ratings. What we aren't seeing is how he plays the run. His run defense ratings were slightly better than Kinlaw's (45 vs 35) but neither were very good.
He has a history of being available. Though Kinlaw played a lot this past season, there is still the stories about arthritic knees and recurrence of past problems. Hnece, Collins is a healthier version of Kinlaw.
I think some are under-rating Kinlaw and overrating Collins. My opinion. I hope Collins kills it but I see a situational player on passing downs.

No every draft is created equal. This OL class top to bottom is one of the best classes in the past 15 yrs.
Also who the hell was there in FA? You want to be hunt $100M? Those OG got massively overpaid. There wasn't s**t at OT.
when you have a good lineman you resign them.
