Dude was a rock in the middle. Looked good.
D line looked great in moments where we'd look lost and blocked down last year
Impressive debut especially in the run game. I like how he gets off blocks by tossing dudes away. Badass. Plays with flair. That roughness call was a bit too much though but he was too amped up I bet.

49ers stole Collins from the Texans.

Was a bad call. Fowles was touched down as he made the block. Ref just threw the flag because the dude was blocked into her,

Agree, that strong middle has always been key to our 49er dynasty defenses. Archie Reese, Michael Carter, BY and Stubblefield, etc... ther we're all unsung heros of those legendary days.
How did AA do in Jax?

Justin Smith was the one that made that defence work too.

I believe he played well. Collins looked great though.

AA also played on the edge at times, which we really didn't do with him. Collins helps to solve the DL problem SF needs that AA didn't quite match anymore, especially at his price.

Let's just hope he can stay healthy.

One thing that's a concern though is the depth. I don't think they have depth to rotate guys in and out to keep them fresh like they did years ago. That's gonna hurt down the road I think.

Yup and a young Ted Washington. Teams have to run sideways if your defense has a strong middle. Wilks undervalued that and didn't know how that fitted in with the zone type coverages and run supports this particular defense has.

If there were no such thing as injuries - Kyle would be 3 - 0 in superbowl records.

Saw AA get a sack…both guys are good, Collins is just cheaper.
