The whole DLine was improved especially w/the additions.
Hargrave looked lighter and faster.
And Floyd was relentless.
Rotation was smartly used by Sorensen.

A question mark asked by many so called experts was if we could stop the run.

Agree. Can't wait to see this defense improve & get better each & every week!

Not to take anything away from our DL, but the Jets offense continues to be in disarray. MIN will be a better test with more competent coaching.

Maliek was the 10th defensive tackle taken in 2016 and Hargrave was the thirteenth. It's amazing how players in the right system do well, and how third rounders like Hargrave become all stars vs so called first round guys like Solomon Thomas and Javon Kinlaws. The Draft really is a crapshoot.

Agree 💯 %❗️ they are consistently hitting on picks after the 2nd rounds much more than the first and second rounds (or so it seems to me). I don't mind them having more 3rd round picks than first round picks in my book.

Mason and Puni look like first round picks. Heck get 6 fifth round picks

and we can replace even CMC and Trent Williams, or so it seems, the way they are hitting from the 5th round on. I mean Brock Purdy - dead last in the draft. He's a round 1, pick 1 level talent.

I think our defensive line is better. I thought it would be worse. No question the offensive line is better with Puni. The weapons are about the same. Purdy has more experience. The kicker looks great. We probably are better. Which is amazing.

He gives me Cowboy vibes. Dude is strong as hell and plays with insane leverage. A lot of that stems from wrestling. He went 48-0 as a high school wrestler and won the state championship. I always tell young guys that aspire to play in the trenches that wrestling is the best thing to do outside of football.

49ers traded in their high cut/tall IDL

for squatty, explosive IDL this offseason

So far, it's working out as intended.
