I really miss the NFL I grew up with when defenders could actually play football and hit these qb's.

Absolutely. DBs were also able to drape all over WRs w/out getting flagged all day. Nowadays, you get flagged for yelling

Dynasties would have died with that era... Brady, Mahomes, whoever comes next, they'd be busted up and no dynasty for them.

The team has a bunch of pass rushing DT but no great run suffers. Anderson is solid and developing in that role but he can't do it himself. I feel like we'd be better off releasing Hargrave and going younger with someone known for run stuffing.

I would say that's b/c he's no a consistent player. Has 2 good games then disappears for 4 weeks. Then has a good game and disappears again. He's a great interior pass rusher just not suited for every down play.

Not sure why JL & KS have neglected this for the last 3 years. Especially with running the wide 9. We need some studs in the trenches. Collins is definitely a keeper

not true at all…he's been our most consistent DT all yr. You don't get the 6th highest PRWR by being inconsistent. It's the opposite

This scheme and what they've always wanted at DT was penetrators…not huge 350lb DTs that 2-gap and eat up space.

I don't watch film so I could be completely wrong, but it's not like out IDL is being completely washed out by their OL. It looks more like missed tackles in the backfield and our LBers not tackling well. We also don't have a great edge setter besides Bosa. Maybe YGM is finally getting healthy and can do that better.

this DL does miss AA, I know folks don't want to admit that

Teams run duo against us because we don't have anyone who can control the double teams. Jonny has talked about it multiple times. You need a guy who can do both, and we just don't have that guy and our defense will suffer because of it.

Hopefully Anderson can become an all around player.

I wouldnt call it neglect. They overprioritized the pass rush. They hoped Kinlaw and others in the middle could hold it down but to no avail. People keep talking about us letting Buckner walk butbI felt that was always overstated. DJ Jones, while not ever being All Pro, was a bigger loss. The line Bosa, AA, Jones, Omenihu, Ebukam, Key, and Willis is what we should be aiming for. Great mix of skillsets. Could rush the passer and stop the run. The 2019 line was sexier, but man for man, 2021-2022 was better.

I think they tried to be more like the 2019 line by getting Hargrave (Buckner lite) and Floyd (Dee Ford).

Just invest in a run stuffer or two in the 4th -7th rounds and develop them. We need lots of bodies on low cost contracts to do this right.

Tough to build dominant DLs when picking low and signing for cheap, but that's the way it goes when trying to keep most of your studs and sacrificing elsewhere
