Collins played 61% of snaps last year and and Elliot played 42%. They will rotate in and out and will also play together to spell Hargraves. Barring injury, I don't see their snap counts falling.

Yeah so at least one of them is definitely starting.

I think we can put to bed the idea that we're drafting DL in round 1. It's clearly going to be OL, which is what I've been saying it should be since the day after we lost the Super Bowl.

It's almost as if they had a thought out plan.

Must suck for the same group of folks that think this FO is inept and they know better than

Armstead is a beast when healthy. I'm expecting Aaron Donald with what you just said.

A beast that has never made a pro bowl or all pro team? Agree with Cjez all things considered, AA never lived up to his contract IMO. Good player when healthy, but you don't pay that kind of money to DTs whose best ability is run defense and eating up blockers. You can find those guys on day 3 of the draft every year, which I anticipate us doing exactly that this year.

Did AA play good against the run? I thought his strength was pass rush.

He's known for his impact defending the run much more than pass rush, though he does do a good job pushing the pocket when healthy.

It was at Candlestick back in 1981.

He was like top 10 in pass rush for DT. Seemed like he sucked against the run last season with Hargrave.

Hopefully I answered that correctly for him.
Congratulations morans, you just gave away the next Brock Purdy for a rotational DT.
Here's a fun video about our new toys, ups and downs.

I had the same thought. 😂

Seriously. Nice pick up. They added along depth along the d line. Just draft a mammoth late in the draft as a project for run stuffing etc. I'd be amazed if this wasn't an o line heavy draft at this point.

Good depth. The interior has definitely beefed up, which is good. A little more pass rush inside than last season with Collins and Elliott.

But the IDL group is still missing that true base nose.

Draft maybe?

Funny you say that. I heard a pod that genuinely believes DT will still be the pick at 31. These guys are seen as depth.

Yeah I can't really argue that, I wouldn't say any of our interior guys were good against the run last season lol

Depends on who is available. They're in a much better position to go BPA now. Really expecting it to be an OT at this point.
