49ers sign LB De'Vondre Campbell

He BLOWS in coverage. Worst coverage in the league.

Campbell only starts because he is better at knowing his assignments.

Issue is simply physical limitations against the pass. His change of direction is terrible and he's not fast enough to carry quicker tight ends.

We are better off letting him use his big frame as a blitzer.

I understand why he's out there except in obvious passing situations. If it's not obvious then sure, keep him for help against the run, but otherwise there's no reason he should be in pass coverage when we need a stop. Winters has the speed for that, and more reps will help him quickly surpass Campbell there.

With all the rookies emerging last night, I am all for putting in Tatum Bethune for this guy.

If not Bethune, let Dee Winters play more snaps than Campbell. Saw that Campbell had 73 snaps vs. Winters 12 snaps last night. Lets them swap those snaps.

i disagree he knows his assignments...maybe in the film room but not on the field

He blew a ton of basic plays last night

Leaving his zone and chasing a crosser so 2 defenders were in 1 area and nobody on the left side...wide open pass

Bad run fits...he blew outside containment multiple times to let the RB bounce outside for a big run

Better off just telling him blitz so he can't f**k up somewhere else...

Really wish Winters could have stepped up to be starting over him while Greenlaw has been out, but it was not to be.

This guy runs like he's got cinderblocks attached fo his feet. Like a DT trying to catch a play from behind. Holy hell

I've been saying for months he's not a three down linebacker. But for some reason they keep playing him like he's one. I can't figure it out.

if you want to know who to blame on that game-losing play, look no further than Campbell. He abandoned his job to cover a WR he didn't need to cover. No player on this team has played a bigger role in the team's losses than this guy.

Just to be clear--losing is never on one guy's fault. But this dude definitely plays a pivotal role in the 49ers' losses.

I actually thought he played better this week. In tackling at least he made some plays. He's pretty consistently bad at coverage.
