I like this signing

only because it sets a nice and attainable bar for Graham or Winters to reach/beat out in TC

Agreed, but will add I like this signing as it brings in a vet LB who's had a lot of NFL success and who can provide more leadership/insights for the young LBs.

He's coming back to the system in which he excelled, so I don't doubt he'll be solid for the Niners. Staying healthy is the real challenge.

His All Pro year was playing for Joe Barry in 2021, the same DC the Packers just fired.

Lol there are Packers' fans on social media bringing up the same point. Maybe they changed his role or something?

I remember watching Deion Jones and Devondre Campbell when they were in Atlanta together. They were so good. I was envious watching two fast LBs flying around the field and wanted to have great LBs again. Then we got Fred and Dre.

I don't know either. I saw the IG post above and thought Joe Barry was somehow misusing him. Then I saw that in 2021, his All Pro year, Joe Barry was also the DC. No idea what happened between 2021 and 2024 outside of injuries.

The bold in particular - really hoping he can stay healthy at this point in his career. If so, can definitely see him making a good contribution.
I wouldn't put any stock into players SM posts

coverage wise he is worse than both Burks or Kendricks

Burks sample size is nada. You can't say that. If he's worse than kendricks it's slight. Don't act like you have a slam dunk here

I don't get the logic you got there. Burks has played coverage snaps in his career.

Not that many, especially since he's been a Niner
Better than Burks at least. He'll be competing against Graham, Winters, and any rookies we pickup.
