Insinuating racism is some b******t. Kyle isn't going to jeopardize trying to win because he doesn't want a black guy being QB2. Gimme a break - it's simply an asinine idea.

These guys are pathetic.

Drunk Kyle agrees

We aren't eating money and selling a QB we want to keep to a conference rival for a 4th round pick, after paying him 20+ million dollars, simply because he asked.

He sucked. We moved on and got what we could get for him.

I didn't say we wanted to trade him. Fact is we did. YOU speculated he didn't ask for a trade and I just provided you source material that he did ask for it and I provided context and reasoning in which he would.

Kyle spent three firsts drafting a clearly black QB. I think that says something

At no point did I say he didn't ask for a trade. I said we wanted to trade him and he'd be here if we didn't… regardless of whether he asked or not.

Go back and re-read the posts.

don't want to turn this into more Trey talk.. but more so into the mind of Kyle.

Trey knew he wasn't going to beat out Brock, because of what Brock did the previous year. Trey said this himself. He thought he would get a fair shot competing for the back up job. Most of OTAs and practices, at the time had local reporters saying Trey was neck and neck with Sam or better than him. So what was left? Proving it on the field during preseason. There was a rotation Kyle wanted.

First preseason game, Trey went first but playing with backups... second preseason game Sam got to start, but he got to play with the starters... Trey came in late after... but once again, had to play with the back ups. 3rd preseason game, it was Trey's turn in the rotation to start...and play with some of the starters. But before he could do that, early in the week Kyle made the decision that Sam got the back up job. Of course Trey was pissed... left practice right? Then when he returned Trey then asked Kyle if he can play his way into the back up job during the regular season through practice. Kyle said no..or its unrealistic because he wouldn't get any snaps. Kyle basically told him it would be better if he were in another situation to get reps. Because it wasn't happening here. Kyle knew what he was doing. If yall remember, in that 2nd preseason game when Sam played late into the 3rd QTR was it? the fans were chanting Trey's name to get him out there.

Even though everyone and they momma knew Brock was the starter, and even if he struggled a bit...it was still his team... Kyle wanted to make sure there were no distractions of who's team it was. Trey was drafted to be the future... there were alot of #5s jerseys out there already. Although I felt it was important to have as much good QBs on the roster, since what happened in Philly....I still understood why Kyle wanted to get Trey off the team. I just didn't like the approach. It seemed like he wanted to make sure Sam was physically fit to be on the team, and to make sure Sam made it through preseason healthy...all that before getting rid of/pressuring Trey out.

So yeah Trey had a reason to want to be off the team.. but I'm sure he didn't think he would get traded to a team like the Cowboys who have a starter and a reliable backup already. He was better off getting traded else where, but the Cowboys gave up a higher pick.

Purdy is going to be healthy all season, So don't know why people are so worried about who the backup QB is. I think we might be the only fanbase that talks so much about the backup QB position. Maybe PTSD from 2022 I don't know.

Not trying to jinx anything... but it's just the reality of this league.. of football. Packer fans are s**tting bricks right now, because they may be forced to have Malik Willis starting for god knows how long.

Better to be prepared as much as possible, than to not be

Here are how the Super Bowl/Playoff favs are looking..

Chiefs have Carson Wentz, who has been s**tty for a bit now... but being under Reid and that offense, makes him better than most backup QBs in the league. Josh Johnson has looked good for the Ravens, and I think he can hold it down... especially with Henry there...Dallas has legit one in Cooper Rush, and Trey worse case scenario. I don't trust the Bills situation with Mitch Trubisky. I don't trust the Eagles situation with Kenny Pickett, maybe they should have kept Marus Mariota instead. Bengals have a good backup QB in Jake Browning... heck the Titans should have found a way to bring him to Tennessee with their new Head Coach (former Bengals OC). Jake looks legit. I don't know what Mike McDaniel is thinking with Skyler Thompson. He trusted Mike White over him last year. Dolphins are f**ked if they lose Tua.

Allen has no business being the #2. None. This is a head scratcher.

In 99% of cases, every team is f**ked if they lose their starting QB for a extended period of time. We shouldn't put much effort into finding a backup qb unless it's through the draft and someone we are molding.
The thing is, Kyle can do whatever he wants, it's his team, and he's been very successful. We also don't know what goes on behind the scenes and in the meeting room. Having said that, it is interesting that lately, two veterans, Dobbs and Snead have essentially said that the 49ers do not promote based on merit. I think Kyle does a great job. I also thought Dobbs won the backup job, but that's why I'm sitting at home, and why Kyle is coaching in superbowls. He can do whatever he wants, it's not a democracy on the football field.

Honestly, don't know why people are getting so worked up at the #2 or #3 QB on the depth chart. Not only is Dobbs the highest paid QB on the team (Lmfao at that) but things can change on the dime in a game or in the next week. But with that said, I hope we never have to see both Allen or Dobbs, I'm actually gonna be really upset if I do. You don't want to lose your starting QB at any time.

Things can change on a dime ? Have you watched Kyle Shanahan over the past 7-8 years ? He's stubborn as f**k. If Purdy goes down, you know he'll ride Allen for at least 3-4 weeks before he's essentially forced to go with the best backup option. It's been his M.O. since he arrived here. He has some screws loose.
